I'd like my cut.

Don't claim that.

Carr might have a higher ceiling than Flowers, and trading the former would be a terrible, terrible decision.

What is his reasoning behind that? We finally get two really good corners, and we just piss it away by trading one of them? Makes no sense.

not real clear, he just doesn't think chiefs will sign both

This is what Pioli is paid to do. I can't wait to see him go to work.

TIER 2 — The borderline Pro Bowlers.

Aubrayo Franklin, DT

Why: Because he doesn't rush the passer or accrue stats in his role as the nose tackle in the 3-4, Franklin has flown under the national radar. He lacks the elite athleticism of Haloti Ngata or the massive frame of Albert Haynesworth, but no interior lineman in football is better at reading blocking schemes and manipulating the offensive front. He creates double-teams by occupying two offensive linemen on most plays, freeing up Patrick Willis to make plays behind him. It's safe to say that he's popular with his teammates; as Willis noted during the 2010 offseason, "I pray to God they keep Aubrayo."

Why not: Franklin only really has two seasons of dominant play underneath his belt, and they both came in contract years. (Franklin was franchised by the 49ers after the 2009 season.) The 49ers are trying to get the word out that Franklin's 2010 season wasn't all that great, but if he did slip, it was only because he was downright incredible in 2009.

Where to: Kansas City, which tried to get by with overmatched veteran Ron Edwards at the nose last year and saw their run defense fall apart during the second half of the season as a result. Washington could also be involved here.

His argument is basically money with all the other guys who's contracts are up. Tamba, Flowers, Bowe.

The money argument seems to carry less weight given what the cap will be, and the new higher minimums that teams have to spend. Seems like it would be wiser to get them both under contract.

I don't get it. Flowers and Bowe are still under contract. Also, if Pioli's wheelin' and dealin' history is any indicator(Charles' contract) they might sign for cheaper than they are actually worth.

My hypothetical was trading Carr for a first or second and then signing Asamoghua.

That would give us an upgrade at corner and a premium pick for a team that has shown the ability to hit numerous grand slams in the draft.

I really only posted the hypothetical situation for responses and gave the scenario less than a 1% chance of coming to fruition.

If all that happens, I'll suck my own dick.

Carr will be re-signed.

No doubt.

Never weighed in on that. I would pass on that scenario personally.
