He could step in for the remainder of the year and we could see how he works with the staff. If he's solid, we could see if he'd be interested in a 2-yr deal while we try to develop Robert Griffin (who will need a lot of seasoning).

Or we could just let him walk. It's really a zero-risk acquisition. I'd be pretty annoyed if we just ignored him.

And we certainly will.

Pretty much how I see it, but be careful as you will be labeled as loving 8-8.

Orton would be awful behind the Chiefs OL. At least Cassel tries to get away from pressure, Orton just falls down if a defender is anywhere near him.

Completely different offense than he played in when he was there.

Pretty much. At least you guys are trying to win and doing whatever it takes. WIll it prove to be too costly? Possibly, but then again, maybe Palmer has a bunch of gas left in the tank and it works out for you. At least you guys are trying. A ton more than I can say for this organization.

It may very well bite us in the ass but I would rather be close now without picks than light years away with a pocket full of them, It has been a decade of "Next Years" for us and I am damn tired of hearing the Next Year shit.

Didn't knowmo start a thread crowing about extending Orton earlier this year?

Micjones 11-22-2011 03:56 PM

There will still be an option to trade up.
I hate seeing this team stand pat when there's an opportunity to improve the squad...just so they can MAYBE draft a QB with their #1.

Some of you are cheering Suck for _____ on and there's a very good chance we won't even be looking to draft a QB (and I'm ALL for drafting a QB).

That's exactly what will happen. Because they've set the precedence already by not replacing any of the others that went down. They are not interested in trying to scratch wins.

Jesus I get to watch this wreck, and the jayhawks every weekend for the rest of the year... what a spectacular time...

I think we will ignore him too. This organziation/team has no urgency, no fight to win. Hell, look how we play the game in the 4th quarter, down by 2 or 3 scores and we dont even run a no huddle offense. We ****ing chill and take it easy like we are winning by 2 or 3 scores with 1 min left. At least try!!!! But nope, no fire, no desire. Why in the world would the organization act any different off the field? I think thats what aggravates me more than anything, our lack of will to win. If we suck, we suck but it seems as if the whole team/org doesnt ****ing care.
