Oh my god you guys are hilarious.

Who cares when he got his playbook? Who cares when he first arrived in Kansas City, or saw Arrowhead?

"He met Romeo on Tuesday but he didn't shake his hand until Friday, and he didn't meet Lilja AND Haley until 45 minutes AFTER his playbook was autographed by Brodie Croyle's wife! And D Bowe wasn't even there!!"

How about this? He was a rookie quarterback playing behind a god-awful collection of scrub backup tackles. None of this video gives us an accurate vision of who Stanzi is or could be as a quarterback. We will - sadly - just have to wait and see.

Stanzi didn't practice any scrimmages that first week of training camp. If it's just him, that's fine. He should be able to overcome that. Rookies get signed late in training camp then play in the preseason games days later all the time.

In this case, not only did Stanzi not practice any scrimmages, but neither did the offensive line and his backs and receivers for that matter. And most of the guys he had on the field at the time had ZERO NFL experience.

So yes, that week did matter in evaluating some of his mistakes in those videos.

But like you said, it's a new season with a new coach who actually possesses a modicum of common sense. Stanzi's had a year of practices and he knows his teammates. Last year's tape can't tell us anything about how he'll do in the future other than we at least have seen examples where he played pretty damn well. He showed great feet, poise, felt the rush, and was able to deliver some pretty sexy well-timed strikes.

Can he "trick" safeties? Can we bring in a wiley vet to show him the ropes? /the CP Cliche group

It has been reported that Stanzi was told before the season he was not going to play during the regular season. I think the two things go hand-in-hand. You saw the same thing with Mallett. Not sure if Mallett was told anything like Stanzi was, but both guys showed promise in the preseason. I just think both organizations did not want to rush them into anything. Hell, look at what happened to Palmer against the Chiefs when he had limited access to Oaklands playbook.

No, I totally get that. It's just the arguing over when he received his playbook is just silly. The guy was clearly not prepared, and his offensive line kept us from accurately assessing his potential.

There's no point in arguing whether he should have been as prepared as Andy Dalton or Cam Newton. At least those dudes played behind starting OL.

I'm in no way ready to write off Stanzi, because I'd like to see what happens when Albert, Winston, and the other starters are blocking for him and he throws to Bowe and Baldwin, not terrence freaking copper.

That won't happen this preseason.

Stanzi may end up being a terrific QB, but who will ever know if he's running for his f'ing life?

Yes, we'd all love to have an Andrew Luck on our roster, but that's not how the real world works. KC's best play right now is to develop what we have at QB, protect the shit out of them, and get the ground game going. With the defense we should have, that should be enough to get us to the playoffs.

Everyone of us that have argued with dumbasses like you have all wanted to draft O-Lineman over the last several years.

But the idea that you need the best O-Line to win is stupid, and that has been proven again and agian through the years by teams like the Pack and the Steelers, not to mention the Giants just this last SB.

We don't need a ****ing #11 overall guard to build a good O-Line.

We need to build a good O-Line to give whoever is our QB the best opportunity, but the fact remains, your argument is the argument of a ****ing idiot.

Go dip a catbrush in Sandy Alomar piss and **** yourself with it.

Yes, I know this was a game where he made one of if not THE biggest blunder of his college football career, BUT on the flippity-flip, GOD DAMN he made a nice throw (and other nice throws) at the 1:30 mark.
