Nor did I say the Falcons were going to blow us out. |

Honestly, I think we would beat the shit out of Atlanta with a qb like Orton, even.
That's all Cassel needs to give us. That level of play. Sustain drives, move the ball and give the defense time to rest and make adjustments. |
How bout we get through camp before making a game plan?
But seriously we'll know how good Routt is going up against White/Jones. Pressure will be key to help slowing down Atlanta's passing game. Obviously the Chiefs will have to stuff the run. On offense i'd imagine the Chiefs will play a ball control offense. We'll see a lot of dink and dunk passes. Hopefully they incorporate screens into the offense this year too. |

We are not one of the best teams in the league. With Orton we would have a chance to beat Atlanta. With Cassel we have no chance. We'll lose by 10 points probably. |

i don't expect him to play that well tho because the Falcons have a couple good pass rushers (Abraham being one of them) and we all know what happens when he sees pressure. the chiefs will need to stay out of third and long or its over early. |

I know the hate for Cassel is rampant but some of you guys are acting like Atlanta is some juggernaut. No chance at winning? Please. The hate for Cassel is clouding judgment around here about how good Atlanta is and taking this position that Atlanta is unstoppable.
In four regular season road games against teams that finished in the top 15 in points allowed they scored 68 points for 17 per game. Take out Seattle whom they scored 30 of those 68 against they averaged 12.5 per game. We were top 15 in total points allowed last season without Berry and an even remotely capable offense to help the defense. Atlanta will be lucky and doing good by their standards to score more than 14 against us. They are a good team but nothing too special (especially on the road) that needs to be feared. |

The big question is will Cassel play well enough for the offense to contribute. Probably not, if last year is an indication.

The last time the Chiefs were 1 - 0??? 2010. Beat SD with 68 yards passing offense. Jamaal scored, Moeaki caught a 2 yard TD pass and Dex ran to daylight on a kick return. I don't see that happening against the Falcons unless they can get production out of the OL. |
