Oh my God.....Kiper said Geno Smith should be ranked anywhere from 25-32. If Dorsey drafts him...he's a reach. Or maybe Dorsey feels completely different about Geno Smith and deems him worthy of the #1 pick.

**** the so called "Draft Experts" and their rankings. They don't mean shit other than they watch a shit ton of tape and they think they know what they're talking about.

That fair and everything, but it's almost entirely a consensus at this point.

You can claim the consensus ain't worth much, but it's a consensus of people with a reasonable degree of knowledge.

I'm pretty sure every single person on this forum would bet on the odds that my team is far better in 5 years.

I hope they put down some coin...

This offseason has completely killed the draft for me.

The consensus that matters is the one among NFL GM's and on NFL draft boards. We don't get to see that consensus until draft day.

You guys should have a real contest. Let Direckshun pick a 53 man roster from the entire draft prospect pool and then Rausch can pick a 53 man roster from what's left, presumably randomly.

I know what you mean.

The Alex Smith thing took the wind out of my sails, hardcore.

I'd prefer to keep it simple.

7 picks - rotating picks.

This we agree on...

We see a somewhat filtered and distorted picture of it through the NFL draft media though. These guys don't all just go it alone and put together their draft prognostications in a darkened room watching youtube videos. Some of them may do it that way, but others include information (and disinformation) they get from the teams. To throw it all out the window and pretend that we have no idea what teams are going to do is naive. Especially when a solid consensus appears to have developed.

If you had to guess which player was more likely to fall to the 2nd round, would you pick Luke Joeckel or Geno Smith?

None of the tackles in this draft have Munoz potential.
None of the pass rushers will take the GOAT title from Deacon Jones.
Geno Smith has Aaron Rodgers upside.

If it is so obvious to us, surely it would be to certain NFL executives and coaches as well, right?

I haven't paid much attention to this whole QB debate for the first pick, which is all the rage on CP for obvious reasons, but what I read from national writers and draftniks pretty mcuh all seems to line up as NO QB being "worth" the 1st overall pick.

I realize the Chiefs are QB starved and the demand to just ****ing TRY to get a great young QB is very strong, but if Reid & Co. don't think Smith or anyone else is THAT guy, then why would they pick him there?

Obviously you can misfire. See Brady, Rodgers, Montana, etc. But that goes both ways. All you can do is make the best pick you can based on the board that you have. If you're 98% sure that the top pass rusher is a solid A, and only 42% sure that the QB is even a B+, then how do you take the QB?

These are the nightmares that plague front offices' dreams.

What's this rotating picks BS? The point of this is that you think it's a complete crapshoot and Direckshun thinks that some prospects have a better chance than others. You should get your 7 randomly assigned to really test your theory.

Yes but remember, you have to choose players with poor NFL chances.

This problem is compounded by the fact there is no "Luck" pick.

Not at QB, DB, WR, DL, anywhere. There is no consensus no 1 pick.

Period.

There is a valid argument for taking any top 6 talent at no 1...

The **** I do.

I'd be picking players I think will do well.

Just like you...
