Contrary to popular belief a WR will need to both learn words and their meanings if they're going to be able to KNOW WHEN, WHAT ROUTE, AND HOW DEEP A ROUTE to play in the NFL.

Also based on TERMINOLOGY (COMPLIMACATEDED WARDS.)

Additionally, the majority of teams have built in options/sight adjusts that requires the WRs to be cognizant of what coverage they're getting (for example, your X might be running a curl, but you have fade v. roll built into that route).

I didnt know Frank Gore was a WR, you said Gore's poor vision is probably a result of a low wonderlic....anyway assuming you jumped back to talk about Tavon...he has played in 3 different offensive systems at WVU, and has been productive in them all. Not once has there been an issue with him learning a new system. I'll take a WR with a 4.3 40 over a 43 on the wonderlic anyday.

For the sake of argument let's give the random guy a 4.45 and a 43 on the wonderlic.

I'd draft him ANY ****ING DAY over anyone with better talent and character issues...

What are Tavons character issues? You are putting wayyy too much stock into the wonderlic, especially for non-qbs. Ray Lewis got a 13, I want him more on my team more than I want some mediocre LB who speaks well. Then again, Im a Steeler fan and used to having talent on my team

This ability of the WR to read is exactly why you have a slot guy like Welker exploding. That's his responsibility.

He's ****ing 3.5 inches taller than me and 28 lbs lighter and he's banking like a Robber Barron. It's not because he got blessed by God like Megatron - he's ****ing intelligent and resilient...

That's why you see players like Ochocinco and others that might be pretty gifted athletically but not very intelligent on the field not be productive in Weis/McDaniel's route designs.
