Any sane manager would have pulled Erwin after he gave up his fourth run. However, Ned is so married to the idea that a starter HAS to go six, bullpen specialists HAVE to get through the seventh (if needed), the setup man has to get through the eighth (only naturally would something be so natural).
And of course, the closer absolutely has to go in the ninth. Because if that procedure isn't followed, would winning the game really even matter? Fire Ned Yost. |
