People were against Sheldon Richardson pre-draft because of his effort concerns.

Okay, then how about Lotulelei? He would allow Poe to shift around on the line and become the true Haloti Ngata we've always dreamed he would be.

Beginning in Year 2, you go with an elephant line of DeVito, Lotulelei, and Poe on rush downs. Sub out DeVito on passing downs, put Poe in the middle, and add a Vance Walker type guy at the end. Or you sub Poe out and put Walker in. Or you... ****, the combinations to think about give me a Gazrection.

There were so many creative ways we could have gone.

Then start Stephenson at LT in 2014.

Everybody's always chirping about how there's never any difference with Albert in or out of the game.

Is Stephenson - Allen - Hudson - Johnson/Fulton - Winston any worse of a line than Fisher - Allen - Hudson -Johnson/Fulton - Stephenson? It all depends on Fisher, sure, but I don't really see that great of a difference even if Fisher plays well.

Fisher's gotta be John Alt good to make that line really kick ass.

I suppose it's my fault for clicking the thread link.

Shame on me for thinking there might be an actual discussion about football.

Holy ****ing shit. Find some new material.

The horse is dead.

Move on.

No. It's fun. It makes me feel like Ritchie Incognito.

Absolutely. Here's the thing... it's not that we needed to draft someone other than Eric Fisher. What we needed was for Eric Fisher to be good.

But, whenever a draft pick doesn't pan out or busts or even just struggles early, it's always a question... did the team screw up by drafting him? Or is the onus on the player?

The answer here is probably both. I mean, you could say the Chiefs shouldn't have drafted a MAC school player. But they could have taken a big conference player in Joeckel, and the result would have been about the same.

It's not like the pick was considered a reach. I put this all on Fisher's (injured) shoulders.

Stephenson at LT? Hope Alex Smith has good insurance

I wouldn't mind that. But you know this place would have exploded if we picked another DL

Exactly. It was John Dorsey's job to find the best player in the draft.

He didn't.

Much better option than Eric Fisher.

Drafting Fisher was about money. Period. They didn't want to pay Albert, and they knew they were gonna have to pay Houston, Berry, Smith, etc.

ROFL

Sweet Daddy Hate 05-28-2014 11:39 AM

Hated the pick then, hate it now.

O.city 05-28-2014 11:39 AM

As of right now, Stephenson is a better player than Fiaher and it really isn't debatable

RunKC 05-28-2014 11:42 AM

An OT that was in his 2nd year was better than a rookie? You don't say?
