Oh Lordy Be, so many, I have to think about it some. Many of the ones listed are very ,very good, some that are not listed are some other war movies, South Pacific, The Fighting Sebees.

Just so damn many .....

Who can remember John Wayne on the Red Skelton Show in this Rooster Cogburn stint.

Part of me agrees. It's basically like Clint Eastwood. He plays every role the same. It's charisma more than actual acting.

Not a knock, I love both actors. Just being realistic.

I thought Lee Marvin as Liberty Valence was a dandy villain.

I don't think anybody mention Liberty Valence. John Wayne & Jimmy Stewart. What's not to like. And good story besides. Just not my favorite, though.

He died a decade before I was born.

It is not as if his movies are out of production. William Shakespeare died a few centuries before I was born, but I still read a story or 2 by him.

Cable/Satellite TV is full of John Wayne movies. You can't watch Turner Classic Movies any week without a John Wayne movie.

John Bonham died around the same time as John Wayne, so I guess you've never heard a song by Led Zepplin either? :doh!:
