The only love affair I have ever had with a car was my first one, which I bought in HS - 1970 Cutlass Supreme. It looked a lot like this:

A lot of first's happened in that car:D Beyond that, I've never given a shit about cars. They are transportation only. Granted, I like having a new car every so often, but there's no emotional attachment.

This - hopefully buying my first Porsche next spring (although my daughter just got engaged - it never ****ing ends).

Be sure it's a turbo or just don't purchase it. :D

I just took this picture today. Other than a bit of a sag in the glove compartment (which is common - design problem) and a handful of very small rock chips and door dings (1/4 the size of a plain M&M), it looks like new. I've owned it for 12 years, and it's at 99,500 miles. It's always been garaged and always had every maintenance done on time.

How shredded is the paint under the bra? Don't those things cause scratching and discoloration due to the sun not hitting the paint under it?

I'd be interested if it were a 3.0.

It's a 2.8. the sizes this year were 2.5, 2.8, & M.

honestly, I'm not sure. that's the third bra it has had, because they tend to get beat up,but I am not the one who replaces it.

Ya - I am not a big bra fan (in both senses) - great for stone chips and bugs - but bad for sun and water accumulation - unless you are fully anal about your vehicle.

The interesting thing is that my wife's parents have an RDX and it's very nice. They just went into assisted living and said that they'd probably give us the RDX once they decide that they shouldn't be driving any more. But our challenge is that it could be next year or it could be ten years from now, and for their sake I hope it's a long time. So we could possibly get a free RDX at some point, but the timing adds so much uncertainty that we can't really leverage it. They're nice vehicles, though.

My wife just got the 2013 AWD with Tech Package. It's pretty awesome. Also (and I know you don't have to drive much, but anyway...) the AWD performed very well during one of the roughest winters to date here (driving through 10" of snow without issue).

I drive old BMWs. Been fixing up my325i to pass on to my son. Showed him how to drive a stick and he loves it. Nothing like going around a corner in 3rd gear while the car handles like a go kart. So much fun.

My 2004 x3 is such a great all around vehicle. Just the right size SUV.

I think as new cars go, the x1 is a good deal at that price.

Isn't the apricot BMW an official car of Chiefs Planet? Are you even allowed to sell it?

Steron 08-14-2014 09:25 AM

Apricot is fun to say. Apricot. Apricot. Apricot. Heh. Not a word you use a lot....
