With a competent, proven coaching staff, Missouri would have an excellent chance to land him, due to his ties (family, sisters, all play at Mizzou).

Missouri does not have a competent or proven staff.

You literally could not ask for more of a strategic advantage than the one Missouri has with Porter. If they can't get him, they can't get any good recruit with this staff. They won't get him, however, because they are incompetent. Utterly incompetent.

Burn it to the ground.

Andre Adams going to Arizona State - Mizzou misses.

Good.

I know it may sound crazy to some but I am looking forward to the basketball season. No need to worry about the departures, I think we might be ok if things fall into place. Granted we need players to develop and avoid trouble.

I hope:

1) Gant is stronger and knows what to do on offense and defense so he can play more minutes. We all saw in flashes his freshman year that he is very talented and quick and had a lot of potential and that is why some think he will be better than J3

2) Clark comes back healthy and doesn't worry about his elbow. He was our go to player last year when we needed points. We also need some upperclassman leadership and I've always liked his hustle and handle.

3) Namon develops his handles and lifts some weights. He was a sniper from deep when he became confident. He is going to be a star.

4) Four of the JUCO/ Allen/ Tramaine/ incoming Freshmen/Rosberg group quickly develop into decent players. It's a lot to ask but critical.

5) Kim Anderson proves the critics wrong by coaching his heart out and gets kids to play smart, disciplined basketball. I saw AAU teams share the ball better than last years Tigers. Hopefully our chemistry is better and it's starts up top.

Lot's of hopes and if's but it's possible in my opinion. Can't wait till the season but I want the team to work hard in the meanwhile and make us proud next year.

It has to suck to be a sunshine pumper - to remain hopeful all year when there's really no hope, and then get your soul crushed when the basketball team wins less games than the football team.

we're chiefs fans. it's what we do. hell, some of them are even royals fans. it's great being a royals fan now, but... there were some dark times, man. some dark times indeed. hell, some so dark that even kim anderson wonders what the hell was wrong with them.

hell, I'll say it. ken harvey > kim anderson.

I mean, just look at that list. Look at the number of "IFS" that are in play there.

IF our two unranked JUCOs are instant impact and IF Ryan Rosburg improves and IF 205-pound Jakeenant Gant can be better as a sophomore than J3 was as a sophomore and IF Wes Clark comes back healthy and takes a big step forward and IF, IF, IF...

The whitewashing of the seasons Wes Clark and Namon Wright and Gant had last year is one of the more entertaining/frustrating things on PM.

Suddenly, Wes Clark is this breakout star who was playing much better in conference play and just had a tragic injury (even though his conference stats are no different.

Suddenly, Jakeenan Gant was the second-best player on the team by the end of the year.

Jerm 07-21-2015 02:22 PM

Everything in the world could go right as far as players go and we'd still be mediocre/terrible because KIM ANDERSON CANNOT COACH AT THIS LEVEL.

Can't believe dolts at PowerMizzou and other places can't see this....he's in way above over his head.

Discuss Thrower 07-21-2015 06:46 PM

So if Kim wins fewer than 10 games this year, he's got to be fired.. right?

Yeah, the Wes Clark thing is confusing to me. Since his injury, he has been approaching Brian Coulter status as most over-hyped player at Mizzou.

I've seen him play in-person, and thus I will never forget him as long as I live. Memorably awful.

It reminds me of that scene in Anger Management when Kevin Nealons character says "It's bad, it's all bad."
