I'm fairly confident in saying that if Alex had 36 TDs to 7 INTs this season we'd be undefeated and THE premier super bowl contender.

Just slightly.

Sucks to be heading into the playoffs with 11-12 wins.. just after knocking the Doncs out of the playoffs. Might even get the #2 seed... but **** all of that!

I is mad!!!!! and sad!!!!

... because... stats.

... and we might end up with the 6 seed after a season in which our defense allowed like 18 PPG, forced a million turnovers, and the defense/special teams contributed about 10 TDs of their own.

Awesome.

This team isn't undefeated which means it has some deficiencies.

What are this team's deficiencies heading into the playoffs?

RunKC 12-26-2016 07:16 PM

Getting the 5/6 seed is not success this year unless we win multiple playoff games and get to the AFCCG. The goal is to do better.

Do you see the Chiefs beating Pittsburgh or New England in the playoffs with Bubble Screen Alex Smith?

Or are you simply satisfied with just making the playoffs and regular season success?

First, let's concede that all the deficiencies could become improved as we move forward... and let's slightly adjust the term to team concerns to monitor as we look ahead...

1. Half the starting defense on I.R. or hobbled.. Sutton understandably goes bend don't break.. so far so good. Much applause.
2. Justin Houston down the stretch? yes, he deserves his own number on the list
3. Andy Reid's playcalling... bound to get more aggressive in door die mode... he and his QB. THIS all ties deeply into TDs, RZ, and 3rd down %.
4. Poor OL run blocking.. looked better last night
5. Jeremy Maclin.. he's probably 100% now, mind and body.. something to keep an eye on
6. Ware's ribs.. he'll probably be fine by playoff time, if not earlier.

miss any?

7. Alex Smith's inability to consistently throw the ball downfield.

How are you fixing that deficiency for the playoffs Oh Brilliant One?

O.city 12-26-2016 07:26 PM

The chiefs put up 33 on Denver's d. I'd think they could do it against the steelers or pats

O.city 12-26-2016 07:27 PM

The amount of mental gymnastics to go thru to keep from saying g the qb needs to play well is weird

- The ONLY team that can beat the Chiefs.. is the Chiefs.

- I am, for now, very satisfied with the regular season wins and locked in playoff spot.

If this ends in a 1 and done or even an AFCCG loss, I will be disappointed, but will look back on the year as a good one. Great? no. Ecstatic? no.

31 other team's fans will walk away without the prize. That's just how it goes.

If the Chiefs are relatively healthy.. yes you too, Houston... and Andy lets it loose.. there is no reason this team can't win it all.

... but just like any given Sunday, even a very good team can come out and shit all over themselves... play down to their competition, etc.

So your argument is wrong... Alex Smith is the one doing less with more.

Also those QB's haven't been gifted with a defense/special teams that has scored the amount of TD's and forced the amount of turnovers that Alex Smith has benefited from.

You are failing miserably in your efforts to defend Alex Smith, but keep trying, it is funny to watch.

that's your opinion. too bad they didn't score fifty last night, because you'd still make it about your opinion.

oh look other units are scoring ! the horror! the horror of it all!

..and then, get this! the offense, I mean, Alex is actually benefiting from it! The nerve!

so.. so... selfish.

7. Alex Smith's consistency in playing well and running the offense like last night. I'm not a full on Alex hater, but he no where near consistent enough. I hope he's currently peaking at the right time.
