Do they really believe that EVEN if they somehow found a way to stop ALL illegal streams that they would earn that supposed $28 billion back? Or even a fraction of it?

People aren't paying because they don't believe the product you offer is worth the asinine price or the hassle that comes with trying to sign up for every goddamn streaming service known to man.

You might not make back the $28 billion you're missing out on if you make some changes there, but I'll bet you'll earn back a big hunk of it if you're reasonable with your price and subscription demands.

No but you would make quite a bit of it back. Maybe half.

Just been password sharing with my parents for years. We use Philo for cable which is $20 per month. It doesn’t have sports which is why it’s so cheap but I don’t have time for live sports other than football which I’m allowed to make time for. Otherwise we have Prime and antenna so we are covered with every game I think this way. I know people don’t like Prime games but I honestly have no idea how people don’t already have prime anyways.

****in' GeoSafari. Holy blast from the past. If that don't make your nostalgia bones laugh then **** you.

Me and my girlfriend have the following:

Direct TV $140 (she apparently needs like 3 of the channels and her family mooches off of it & so we can get Ballys)
YouTube TV $85? (Best streaming interface & cloud recording ive ever seen)
Netflix $13.99? (Watch alot of standup comedy on it)
Prime $14.99 (only use it so I can buy shit)
Showtime $5.99? (She watches Billions)
HBO Max $17? (Watched Friends and watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air)
ESPN+ & Disney free with verizon
Apple TV $6.99 (Ted Lasso & Hijack)
Hulu $7.99 (Think we watched Homeland on there?)
Paramount+ $5.99 (The Zoe Saldana spy military show thing)
Peacock $5.99 (Killing It)
NBA League Pass $14.99

So thats a total of $319 a month by 2 people = $159.50

Not bad. I paid like $145 for cable in like 2008 and I get tons more content now. Drop in the bucket.

This is a stupid move. All these streamers will just move to another IP, country host etc.

there is no way to stop illegal streaming unless you go after the person viewing the illegal stream. And that would be a public relations nightmare that no sane person or corporation would even consider.

maybe they could be somewhat consumer friendly and not have such hatred towards their fans. Imagine if you could pick a team (I would pick my favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs) on a streaming service like Amazon for say $30 for the season and you can watch every Chiefs game on amazon and only Chiefs games. I would pay that. But there's no way I'm getting NFL sunday ticket or anything like that because it would be annoying and I'm only interested in watching Chiefs games (because they are my favorite team). I don't give two shits about watching any other team.

I wonder if internet pirates will be glamorized like the 1700’s pirates.

You guys are too funny, actually my Dell Inspirion 15 3000 is as big to me as my grandson's Iphones. Well almost. No, not really.

My 22 year old number 2 was just here for 7 weeks and it was a great time.

But to say his phone was the major player in his day would be an understatement. Heck, even my Pixel 3 has to be by my side or in my pocket.

I feel like Prime is one of the dumber things I pay for, but I've also had it forever and haven't really done the math on shipping costs (considering most of the time I don't actually need shit in 2 days, and now many times Prime is 3+ days anyway). I mostly watch stuff on Netflix (and at least some Prime content has commercials, which is annoying given you're already paying for it), so I'm not sure I'd really miss it.

It’s not even just the shipping for me. So much everyday stuff is just way cheaper on there. I view it like Costco. You are losing money by not paying the membership to shop there. Of course this does probably vary based on purchasing needs.

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-30-2023 03:58 PM

DTV and local nexstar are in dispute so NBC and Fox are off the table for me. No Thursday night kickoff without a stream.

Here is the best setup:

1x HDMI
1x Laptop
1x TV (Any size)

-Plug laptop into TV and right click on desktop, you will see option for Display settings. Make sure it is set to "Mirror" (I find that is easier)

-Navigate to browser of choice and go to a "Website"

(THIS IS THE ANNOYING PART)

Most of these website have popups, look for the small X's or close the new opened tabs

-Click on screen enlarge

-sit back and enjoy HD NFL

Do you not have an adblocker? Shouldn't be dealing with popups these days - get the Ublock Origin browser extension.

Yeah, I just need to shop with it logged off in another browser and after a bit either come to the conclusion that, hell yeah it's worth it... or, WTF I'm paying for. Not saying it IS dumb to pay for it, but it seemed like such a great deal back when it was $99/month, and +$40/month later and years of letting it renew automatically, have just thought I should dig into it. And I do use it fairly often, because I hate shopping in stores.

Costco is awesome... hell, I bought flooring from them once and not only had no-questions-asked returns on the extra, but noticed it was cheaper a few weeks later and they refunded the difference. Much less of course the food and all the other shit in the store.
