I didn't trust Vanderbilt.. They can be a good team, but I had them losing to Clemson or Villanova in most of my brackets. They are in desperate need of big-game experience.

siena just better than vandy.....doesn't even look like an upset

eazyb81 03-21-2008 06:55 PM

Sigh.....Vandy just isn't the same team outside of Memorial Gym.

the Talking Can 03-21-2008 06:56 PM

siena has lead by 10 wire to wire

Bearcat 03-21-2008 07:03 PM

MMoD makes CBS tolerable.... watch one game on the laptop when the game on tv is at commercial.

CBS has issues logging in twice on the same network, or else I'd watch 3. :)

banyon 03-21-2008 07:03 PM

Siena's going to do this. They are quicker to every ball and have several guys who can score. You can't focus on 1 or two guys like most little schools.

the Talking Can 03-21-2008 07:12 PM

Vandy is lucky they aren't down 20

Siena has controlled the entire game...so much confidence....

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 07:17 PM

I knew Siena had beaten Stanford and that they were generally pretty dangerous, but I guess I just subconsciously discounted them after that 102-58 drubbing the Tigers laid on them. They've completely dominated Vandy. I can't believe I was fool enough to throw Vandy into my Elite Eight, regardless of my need for some sort of twist in my bracket with all of those Kansas fans picking.

This Oregon-Moo State game is pretty fun.

eazyb81 03-21-2008 07:22 PM

Jeez, the SEC has really wet the bed in this tournament.

Goddamn Vanderbilt.

Oh well, I had Clemson beating them anyhow.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 07:29 PM

I think someone forgot to tell Oregon that the goal of the game is to put that round orange thing through that other round orange thing with the white stuff hanging off of it. They seem to believe that hitting that transparent rectangular area counts for something.

Deberg_1990 03-21-2008 07:33 PM

Siena over Vandy???

Bracket Buster!!!! 13 over a 4! Incredible.

the Talking Can 03-21-2008 07:35 PM

Malik Hairston is going to "carmelize" Oregon.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 07:39 PM

8 point deficit with 13 seconds left... where's Reggie Miller when you need him?

Bearcat 03-21-2008 07:45 PM

2nd night of the tournament and my bracket is done.

Dude, who is that huge bucket of lard on Arkansas? That is the fattest player I have ever seen in division 1 basketball. He's got a huge belly and doesn't look athletic at all. He is my hero

uhhh, I think you're talking about the guy on Indiana. Arkansas is wearing red and I don't believe they have anyone that would be considered fat

kstater 03-21-2008 08:25 PM

Hogs playing decent.

JBucc 03-21-2008 08:30 PM

Hill seems to be putting extra effort into his defense tonight. He always blocks a few shots but also seem to get posterized at least once a game.

If he'd get a haircut or pull it back, he'd probably get more blocks.

JBucc 03-21-2008 08:35 PM

BTW, Arkansas is 22-0 when leading at the half this year.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 08:39 PM

Robert Dozier's been horrible so far. He needs to pick it up before he gets dumped to Line 2 duty for the rest of the night.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 08:48 PM

For God's sake, Dozier can do no right on the offensive end tonight. His turnovers and misses are singlehandedly keeping us from a 20+ lead.

Well, at least he hit his free throws there.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 08:55 PM

Rose just left two guys' jocks on the floor.

KevB 03-21-2008 09:13 PM

Dozier just isn't very strong with the ball, never has been. Really shocking with his ability that he has issues finishing around the rim.

ClevelandBronco 03-21-2008 09:18 PM

I thought Indiana required Bobby Knight's presence to choke. Maybe not.

Bearcat 03-21-2008 09:43 PM

Villanova took their first lead with about 11 minutes to go.

Clemson looked great in the first half, but now they're down 3... pretty standard, really.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 09:47 PM

Vereen is playing out of his mind, but it doesn't hurt UTA's fat boy duo that CBS is going to commercial every three seconds.

Ooh, Dozier. Nice finish.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 09:54 PM

HOLD ON TO THE ****ING BALL DOZIER

Allen at the line. Oh God, here's an adventure. LMAO

Now Dorsey! That's hilarious. From 16-22 to oblivion.

CDR gets slapped by the twin mounds that are Posey's breastesses and it's not a foul?

Bearcat 03-21-2008 09:58 PM

Clemson is falling apart... down by 8 with 6:00 to go.

It's sad, but in a HA HA sort of way.

ClevelandBronco 03-21-2008 10:01 PM

Nova misses the easy layup, then fouls. Then we get crappy free throws at the other end. Nobody wants to win this thing.

Buck 03-21-2008 10:05 PM

Im late to the discussion, but I did pick Nova

There seem to be a lot of cheap fouls, not that it will matter.

This is like a 2 hour video on the history of Clemson athletics, or specifically about Clemsons' season when they went 17-0 and missed the tournament. Great start showing they can beat anyone when they want to, followed by a second half of disappointment, wondering why they don't have a permanent spot in the NIT.

I just pray these shitbirds aren't calling the Moo State game.

Bearcat 03-21-2008 10:09 PM

I had Clemson winning a couple in some of my brackets, and Villanova winning one in a couple.

A technical on 'Nova... they should call the game and hand Siena a trip to the Sweet 16.

007 03-21-2008 10:16 PM

How the hell is that a foul?

Bearcat 03-21-2008 10:17 PM

This game has turned into a Big East sh*tfest, where it's a requirement that the last 20 points be scored from the free throw line.

007 03-21-2008 10:19 PM

Nova ball? What? Not one Clemson player touched that.

007 03-21-2008 10:19 PM

And another iffy foul.

Ultra Peanut 03-21-2008 10:21 PM

Well, it was an uninspired, mediocre performance -- downright horrendous by Dozier -- but I'll take the win and move on. Also, that's 100 wins in three years, so that's nice.

Tampa is ridiculous.

ClevelandBronco 03-21-2008 10:22 PM

Looks like Ogilsby wants to win it, but he doesn't have the shot in traffic.

Bearcat 03-21-2008 10:24 PM

It annoys me when mid-majors shoot threes in the final couple of minutes in a close game, but I guess I can understand the live/die by the three, and I really understand they don't have the big-game experience either.

Now that Clemson is down by 6 so they obviously have to shoot 3s, but before that Clemson had done it more than a couple of times.... 2 minutes to go and down by 2, shoot a three, miss and rebound, shoot another 3 a second later, miss.

What an embarrassement.... Villanova did everything they could to hand Clemson the game, after Clemson gave up an 18 point lead and 12 point halftime lead.

Neither deserve to advance.

Out of all the crazy things that have happened in this tournament, the one thing that really blows my mind is that Clark Kellogg still has a job.

He has to be the most boring, unintelligent, uncreative sports analyst in the country. How many years in a row has he picked 4 #1 seeds to make the Final Four? What a doofus, I despise him.

Thats easy, root for WVU to piss off the kitty cats. And my second favorite team(s) are whoever is playing Duke/UNC.

alnorth 03-22-2008 12:47 PM

I've got a stupid, annoying, and irrelevant question.

On the CBS score banner on the bottom of the screen, WVU is dark blue, and Duke is gray. Gray? Why gray, that makes no sense! I realize that both team's dominant color is some shade of blue, but theres nothing gray about duke. Assuming they dont want to use the secondary white color of duke, why dont they either use two different shades of blue, or blue for duke and the secondary gold color for WVU?

Hey, this issue is probably going to be more interesting than the inevitable outcome of the game itself anyway.

Can't believe I am answering this question. Just a stab, but i assumed it was a shade of light black. Duke has some road black unis that they wear sometimes.

Who were you listening to?? Out of all the #2 seeds, that was who everybody has been saying was going to go down first. You could just see it coming with their lackluster play towards the end of the year, their reliance on 3-point shooting, and lack of interior defense.
