Whitlock just asked for more of him in tomorrows game. His latest piece is completely fair to the Chiefs minus some obvious DJ homerism.

OK, so last night I reviewed the Chargers game.

Interesting revelations - our pass blocking was not bad at all. I don't think Albert blew a single block. O'Failaghan had a couple of bad moments but overall, not bad. This puts Cassel's shit performance in an even worse light.

But by FAR, the most interesting thing...is that there were no defensive highlights, other than a couple of passes broken up. We didn't sack Rivers, we didn't hit him, we didn't hit any receivers or running backs with brutality, we didn't stuff anyone in the backfield impressively....nothing.

No defensive highlights, not one, other than a queer pass breakup and one decent pass rush by Alex Magee on our first possession.

****.

At least there will be some defensive highlights from the Denver game. Bout the only good thing out of that game. Although, from what I could tell it did look like the O line was actually providing somewhat of a pocket for Cassel. Now if our WR's would just catch the balls that hit them in the hands.

And thanks for doing this!

It seemed like Denver didn't even go to any of their exotic blitz packages to get pressure on Cassel. I think they were just trying to force Cassel to throw from the pocket to prevent him from doing anything with his feet. We weren't really trying to put much pressure on him.

Thank you posting this.

That first gif was one I was looking for but didn't want to go through game footage. That block by Cox was absolutely positively pathetic. I remember thinking to myself about how if that was T-Rich, there is no way in hell that guy comes even close to Charles on a toss sweep.

By the way, just to comment... that first one isn't on Albert. Albert's sprinting to the edge to block a guy Cox should have blocked. Albert never had a chance--he actually did as well as he could have. Actually, I thought he played it very well. If Cox makes his block, Albert's in position to seal the edge from the two other pursuing defenders.

I was thinking the same thing. Albert had no choice but to try and push the defender further outside. Optimally, that allows JC to turn it upfield, but the pursuit was there. That play was just doomed...

It doesn't seem like it for some reason. I guess the fact he sucks a little less than all the previous right tackles makes him seem not so terrible. But in this case, the numbers don't lie.

Oh, before I forget, Vrabel got in on the blocking FAIL this week. This is inexcusable, IMO, especially because he was NOT intended to be a receiver on this play.

Bowser 12-19-2009 06:56 PM

I wonder what opposing defenses think when they watch the Chiefs on tape in preparation for the game on Sunday. Every single defender we go against HAS to be thinking that his game against the Chiefs is what is either going to get him a big money contract or a trip to the Pro Bowl.

You're assuming other teams feel the need to prep against this team.

And if they did, I can guarantee that while watching film, at least one opposing player is singing something in his head along the lines of "Nah-Nah-Nah, Gonna' have a Good Tiiiiiiiiime"( Hey-Hey-Hey!)
