Bump, but only to make sure it doesn't fall of the board entirely lol

Predarat 03-25-2011 03:01 PM

The MTS Centre looks nice if the get the Jets back, but I think you have to average 14K now to get revenue sharing, and it looks like they are going to raise it to 15K, so if they do that the Jets will have to sell out damn near every game. With the economy and teams stuggling I think they should keep it at 14K.

Predarat 03-27-2011 09:00 AM

Thanks to the STL Blues for knocking off the Wild in regulation yesterday!

You mean the Wild, Blues lost to Coyotes this week.

And the Blues are eliminated from playoff contention unless every one in front of them loses out and the Blues would have to win out.

Yes my fault I confused the Wild with the Coyotes. I tried to change it before anyone noticed lol.

Watch these videos and tell me this is a goal....

Regional Semifinals, tied game in OT. It's called a no-goal on the ice... they review it for ten minutes and conclude even though there's no conclusive evidence the puck was ever completely across the goal line, piecing the angles together shows the puck was (probably) across the line.

When I first watched it, I was maybe 60-70% sure it was a goal, because it looks like the kicking motion with the right leg causes the puck to slide out from under him... but, in the long shot, it's actually his left skate that kicks it out, so maybe it was on the line the entire time?

I personally think it's BS that it was overturned (one way or the other, really, but I don't see how you call it a goal when you don't ever see the puck 100% across the line)...

Yep - I watched the game live. I agree that it was PROBABLY across the line, but I've never seen them do it before without a shot that shows it was clearly over. Very odd.

Rams Fan 03-27-2011 08:14 PM

I didn't watch live, saw it on replay but heard how awesome Schwartz was in his game.

DaFace, do you miss Shatty Lite?

Predarat 03-27-2011 08:20 PM

That might have been a goal but it does not look like enough to overturn the call. Its supposed to be more conclusive then that to overturn it.

Michigan was apparently eliminated last year after they had a goal overturned, so I heard some of the media was focusing on how the universe balance out for them. It was an awful way to end the game, and they never showed a replay at Scottrade Center... they showed it again on ESPNU at 10:30, so we found a bar and finally saw the replays around 1:30 Saturday morning.

After seeing the replays, I finally understood why it took 10 minutes to review it, but even the video that highlights (what could be) the puck isn't enough, IM(biased)O.

Well, you got EJ. Shatty scored his first goal as a Blue last week in Phoenix. Stewart has 11 goals in 19 games as a Blue.

In the Cetral League it will be the Mizzou Maverics against the Wichita Thunder, hopefully there will be some controversy and they can get a good rivalry going. Its odd because its a 5 game series, the Maverics have home ice advantage

Missouri Mavericks vs. Wichita Thunder
Game 1 – Wed., Mar. 30 – Missouri at Wichita, 7:05
Game 2 – Fri., Apr. 1 – Wichita at Missouri, 7:05
Game 3 – Sat., Apr. 2 – Wichita at Missouri, 7:05

The Mizzou Mavs went to Wichita tonight and tied the series 2-2 in a 5 game series. Game 5 is tomorrow @the Indy Center.

With the Blues going to OT vs the Blackhawks, they need some help from the teams playing the Stars. The Blackhawks no longer own the tie breaker against Dallas and they would have to get 3-4 points against Detroit.

Bearcat 04-07-2011 08:40 PM

I'm hoping the Avalanche can come back and beat Dallas... but, I doubt it.

It'll take a lot for me to actually be happy with the Avs-Blues trade this year, but it does make me a tiny bit happier that the Avs got the absolute best possible draft pick they could have out of the deal. (Well, unless the Blues get insanely lucky with the lottery.)

The Blues don't get lucky with anything. I really, really want the Blues to not win the lottery so they get the Avs 2nd(they have like 3 or 2 2nds this year, awesome). Hopefully, Armstrong can trade those picks off for some players.

I've been a pretty serious hockey fan my whole life and usually do quite well in playoff pools. Since the lightening hired Yzerman and Guy Boucher I knew they'd take their talent filled team to the next level. Same for the Ducks, their only problem is their goaltending. Perry is a monster out there!
Plus, my sisters boyfriend was told he'd get called up by the Ducks if they made the playoffs. They need a goon out there.

Yes it is, its probably going 6 or 7, its going to be a good one, classic Offense vs Defense/Goaltending.

Penguins/Lightning should be fun. It's going to suck when St. Louis, Lecavalier and Stamkos start raining goals down. Hopefully the reason Pittsburgh has gotten where they are: the defense and Fleury, are up to the task of stopping the Bolts.

NHL Draft Lottery is tonight.

"By virtue of their league-worst record, the Edmonton Oilers hold the highest odds of obtaining the first overall selection at 48.2 percent, followed by the Colorado Avalanche (18.8 percent) and the Florida Panthers (14.2 percent).
The New York Islanders (10.7 percent) and Ottawa Senators (8.1 percent) also have a shot at grabbing the first pick in draft, held in Minnesota on June 24."

If the Oilers land this pick they could be a scary team in a couple years. Along with Hall, Eberle, Gagner, Cogliano, Paajarvi this could be bad news for other Western teams.

Predarat 04-12-2011 01:30 PM

I'm not too much into conspirocy theories, but I have a feeling the Oilers tanked some games to get that selection. I don't blame them for doing so, its almost better then being slightly above mediocre and not getting refreshed with top talent.

FWIW, not playoff related, but the Avs get the Blues first round pick in the trade that sent Shatty Lite and Stewie over to St. Louis.
