What? You want all the worms to die in KC too? All McNabb ever did was throw the ball into the ground at the receivers feet. With Reid grooming Freeman we may have the next A.Rodgers

ChiefSuspect 01-14-2013 10:58 PM

Reid developed Favre and McNabb into Hall of Famers. He could easily turn Freeman into a top 10 quarterback.

Mcnabb, HOF? You've gotta be freaking kidding me...

I can't stop laughing, seriously.

Best quarterback in Philly's history. 10+ years of sustained success. And he did it all with slop at wide receiver except for the one year with Owens. Take a look at his stats sometime and get educated.

Funny, all I see is an above average QB. His career comp% is less than 60%, never threw for 4,000 yards in a season, and he rarely even played a full season.

Good QB? Absolutely. HOFer? Hell no.

Those are your HOF qualifications? Interesting.

Not ultimately. There are a lot of things that go into a HOF career for a QB. Did you win a SB? Did you have a long and consistent career? Did you break any NFL records? I'm not arguing that McNabb had a fine career, just not HOF worthy. Maybe if he won the SB in 2004, he'd be tempting.

Also, don't forget the way he went out with the Redskins and Vikings. He literally quit on them.

ChiefSuspect 01-14-2013 11:28 PM

Maybe you're right. If he won a SB, it could be a different story. It still doesn't change the focal point of my argument, though. Reid grooms quarterbacks.

Compare his stats to Kelly or Aikman.

ChiefLongDong 01-14-2013 11:30 PM

If Reid can turn Ron Mexico into a pro bowler, he can turn Freeman into one.

ChiefPassesALot 01-14-2013 11:30 PM

McNabb and Reid resurrected Philadelphia from oblivion for a decade essentially.

ChiefSuspect 01-14-2013 11:31 PM

Reid could turn my left nut into a Pro Bowler. Quarterbacks flourish in his scheme.

Smed1065 01-15-2013 12:16 AM

I see Reid has quite a following.

Based on that news conference today and all their comments about "value" I could see a trade like this happening now.

This organization just refuses to draft QBs in the first round. I hate this.

crazycoffey 01-15-2013 02:29 AM

What the hell, who left the gate open this time? Place is brimming with hot stinky yard poo

DaneMcCloud 01-15-2013 02:33 AM

I'd swap sixth round picks for Freeman.

He's damaged goods now. Tampa won't likely get dick for him.

If there's a QB worth drafting, they'll take him.

That's the $64,000 question.

Yeah I agree. The debate continues about your second sentence and who is or isn't, but I fully agree with you. I don't think Reid/Dorsey/Clark are afraid. If they see a guy they want, I don't see anything standing in the way of them taking him.

warpaint* 01-15-2013 04:47 AM

No thanks. Mediocre.

ChiefMojo 01-15-2013 06:35 AM

He might not be a bad guy to bring in as a back-up while you groom the young pup. KC kid that does have some talent but apparently isn't going to be anything grand. Maybe Reid can get something out of him? Possible good insurance guy to have?

Still the Chiefs need to take the best QB at the top of the draft regardless if you brought in someone like Freeman or not!

Something tells me there's going to be A LOT of upset fans come draft day...that is unless GS falls to the second round...

Don't get me wrong...I don't know enough about GS to form an opinion other than from what I've read so far. From what I see he's gonna have to have one hell of a combine to be the first pick of the draft.

CoMoChief 01-15-2013 06:59 AM

I think Freeman can be good.....he's had dogshit of a coaching staff since he's been there IMO.

Same as Brady Quinn!!

ChiefPassesALot 01-15-2013 09:13 AM

I'll say it again. Reid will take the best O-line or D-linemen in the draft if he picks at 1. He will probably feel like he can get a developmental QB later in the draft to groom. Reid will have major influence on who the GM brings in as he always has.

I'd LOVE to be able to steal him like that.

He definitely fits mine, just not sure if he would fit Reids profile.

I'm not tied to GS. GS is pretty much the consensus #1 QB available in this years draft per everybody, not just this board. If he's a top 10 pick and you have the #1 pick you don't pass on him to draft a LT when you already have a franchise LT on the roster who just needs another contract. That solves NOTHING.

I was just responding to the idea of trading the #1 pick for Freeman and the #13 pick.

That would be the same exact bullshit that has kept this team from getting a franchise QB for the last 30 ****ing years.

I'll take any of the top 3. Trading for someones backup/should be backup is not an option for me.

well, maybe. But so far he isn't good enough to trade significant draft picks for

ChiefMojo 04-10-2013 09:17 AM

Interesting, so it isn't the front office that is down on Freeman, hmmm?
