My settlement is really coming together. Sturges can't take all the credit.

Dude. The game's been out for like 3 weeks hasn't it?

Man this guy has a point. The quest system has really fallen off since Oblivion and New Vegas.

His point stands, though. It was something I have been contemplating mentioning here....with Fallout 4, they seem to have done this thing where you join a faction, and then just continuously do the same repetitive missions for those factions. For the minutemen, your constantly clearing or rescuing kidnapped people from the same areas. For the brotherhood, you have the missions of taking out the scribe recruits on their first mission and clearing areas. It seems so cookie cutter, and I really hadn't gotten that vibe, even in Skyrim. It seems as though, they concentrated on settlements and their development with this game, and went kinda skimpy on the other stuff. Don't get me wrong, I've been more than entertained, but I got a little tired of doing the same shot over and over the other day, and just set out in search of any unique missions I could find. I found a couple, but still not as many as I'd hoped. |
You're not doing the right quests for those factions. There's other stuff.
He is right, though. |

But what quests am I missing for the Minutemen? |

And as for the minutemen, I'm way past 8 settlements, and yeah, Preston does give you something new....but it's just a mission to go clear another potential settlement. |

And that's still essentially the same thing. You're just clearing and repairing a castle rather than a shock and trees.
|
If you've sided with the institute that appears to cut off a lot of the minutemen shit. You need to make them your enemy.

I did not side with them, so my main story went a little different. |
I take it you haven't gotten to the point where you choose a side?

I'm going to save here and come back later so I can experience all the endings. |

The list of shit they could have done better in this game is long. But I've managed to put more than 200 hours into it so far, so I guess it isn't all bad.
I love how they troll you with the NPCs. Mama Murphy, Marcy Long ... Hell, they made a game where it's damn near required to pick up every scrap of junk you see and then make every single companion bitch at you about it every time you do it. |
Quote:
I hate how they always bitch about picking up money or desk fans etc. "No account for taste I guess." "Why are you carrying around all that junk?" LMAO Assholes |

No sell kids into slavery option, no crazy talking tree quest, etc. Previews suggested the focus on gameplay came at the expense of story, and that was borne out. |

I'm on a real slow pace. Lvl 17, just working quests within my lvl, according to the map I posted earlier. Like a sweep of the map. Looks like I am coming up on a ton of quests in downtown Boston. This is where I lost interest in NV. All the Strip quests and load screens. But I am much more immersed in this world than any previous FO games. The story doesn't bother me much as I am living my own. I click through the dialogue just to get to the quest, to level up. I'll tackle the east side, then clean up some blue quests (I've got to go confront that guy Dogmeat led me too. Kinda scared to do so. Don't like rage-quiting), get my settlements organized, efficient and connected, then finish up downtown. Looks like some good DLC material in the southern red zone. Three points to use. Going with Rifleman, Lone Wanderer and Toughness. Maybe some Night Person, as that is what I am IRL. |
One thing about this game...
Spoiler!

Plymouth, Gloucester, Cape Cod, and Martha's Vineyard are all not on the map. They can go up to Green Mountain in Vermont or south into Rhode Island. Even Quebec wouldn't be too much of a trek. |
Maybe you guys have discussed this already but I have a problem that is driving me crazy
How in the flying **** do you get junk walls to match up to build your base up..I am having a severe OCD attack every time I try to build base walls..**** me |

Should of done more with the Minute Men. I would of made the storyline like this:
-Found/Ally with X number of settlements. --Retake Castle and get artillery. --Ally with 2 of Vault 81/Diamond City/Goodneighbor/Bunker Hill with each one giving you something different so. 81 would be tech, Diamond City armor, Goodneighbor chems, and Bunker Hill caps. -Found/Ally with X number of settlements. --Assault the two vaults the Gunners hold. --Assault Quincy and ally with Atom Cats --Assault Gunners Plaza with your army. End Game: Minuteman can ally with Railroad, Institute, or destroy both. Will always oppose BoS. |
I spent 20 min trying to get pie. I didn't get pie.

I see there is a patch coming out. Is this the first patch that Bethesda has put out for Fallout 4? I don't remember downloading one.

I also built this in my buddies shop this week. Kinda silly, but I had fun making it.

Surprised they didn't just do Martha's Vineyard for Far Harbor. Hell, I am really surprised that Plymouth wasn't the first DLC location since it is right southeast of where the map ends.

The Far Harbor DLC is out now. I got around to playing the Robot DLC last weekend. Story was ok, but fairly short. But it's fun building crazy ass robots. Far Harbor is supposed to be a pretty big expansion.
