Say what you want about the OL as a whole, but right now Schwartz might be the best RT we've ever had.

He was struggling a bit earlier this year bc his ankle was hurt, but now he's healthy...and he just dominated both Von Miller and Khalil Mack.

I feel like the pass protection is fairly solid at this point. The interior run blocking is simply garbage. KC hasn't got that tough yard once this year. It's frustrating to me because I feel like it's been a turning point in several games. It's one thing to not have a power running game, but I hate that they can't rise to the occasion on critical scores or game clinching first downs.

Agree with most of this. The 3rd sentence is hyperbole... and I feel like their run prowess was better vs DEN, at least.

Especially in the TN game... They a were abused in the short yardage situations...

He's not debating you. Tigger is the premier Alexcusing Trollbeast of Chiefs Planet. What Clay is to Alex opposition, Tigger is to the pro-Smith Fellowship of Few.
Unfortunately, his dull blade of wit is nowhere near Clay's Hanzo Sword, so the posts have no comic value whatsoever, and generally serve to be nothing more than an ongoing irritant.

Remember L.A. Chieffan during the Cassel era...holy shit that dude is funny. And he used to grate the hell out of people because people took him seriously.

I'm surprised he hasn't been pimping Smith even harder. Hell, I'm surprised Cassel is still employed in the league.
What coach in their right mind puts that turd on a roster? At least Smith could serve as a legitimate back-up. Cassel has no value whatsoever.

It's incredible to me. I always think to myself, "can't they find some guy who throws a pigskin around in a factory during break to be better than Cassel?" I'm sure there are a ton of Kurt Warner "grocery bagger" types who are better than Cassel right now.

Yeah, his release is the stuff of legend.

Actually, TiggerUnclesuck is almost right for once. Alex Whiff's 2.37-second average release time is only bested by Nick Foles' 2.36-second time:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...nto-postseason

Of course, what BlackBob conveniently leaves out is that Alex Whiff is pretty much ONLY effective when he's whipping the ball out at lightning speed. It limits the type of plays Reid can run, because Whiff shits his pants whenever he's forced to make a decision instead of just running on autopilot.

You are correct. I had not taken in to account the one-read, bordering on stare-down technique which Smiff employs to create his astounding, horizontal passing game.

Good catch!

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef - SD ranks 5th in Pass defense DVOA
http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/t...sition/defense - SD ranks 4th in opponent QB rating, 3rd in TD/INT ratio

Take away your total yards/fantasy football nonsense off Chiefsplanet. By your shit logic, the Chiefs would be ranked 17th in pass defense.

That's not really true, at all.

The main thing a QB in this offense must *not* do is turn the ball over.

The Chiefs lost specifically to the Bucs and Titans because the QB threw INT's in the end zone.

Had those been TD's or even incomplete, the Chiefs are likely 13-2 at this point.

The 4th & 1 call against the Titans didn't help, either.

Kick the FG, win the game.

I'm an NFL fan, so I know about NFL players. I'm a fan of an AFC West team, so I know about the division rivals' starting quarterbacks. Nothing creepy at all about that.

On the other hand, being a crazed fan of a below-mediocre quarterback to the point of following him around from team to team? Now that's creepy.

I'm not really bashing him either. The games he had against SD and Denver were him. He's done more this year than I've seen in the past. I'm just saying if you have a chance to upgrade you upgrade. If you don't then whatever. I hope they win the Superbowl and he's a big part of that. To date though I feel like a lot of QBs could do an equal or better job in this situation. I don't see a huge gap when he's out that tells me otherwise.

And what has Rivers done in this decade? Besides live in the shadow of Drew Brees?

I've been here since 2012. I've never been banned. I've never even come close to being banned. Meanwhile, you're on your millionth mult.

Your account inception doesn't give you a pass to shit on this forum and team, especially as an established Chargers fan.

It's a give and take, Bob. There are fans of all three division rivals on this board and most all of them are more respected, knowledgeable, and above all; desirable than you.

Chiefs Planet is a proud forum of discussion and debate, not some one-sided cheer leading festival for your sweet, precious, and ultimately forgettable honey boo-boo Smith.

I don't mind getting the credit for the campaign against you; it's truly an honor.

Salute!

Who you guys playing in the playoffs?

No, no they aren't Reerun. No matter how much you try to spin it into something negative for KC, regardless of what happens SD goes home after Sunday.

No matter how you try to spin the bullshit you have been spewing nonstop for weeks now for whatever reason, KC is in the playoffs and SD isn't.

Your shit is getting stale, it really is.

And our below mediocre QB beat his HOF QB week 1 and is getting ready to do it again week 17.

GoChargers 12-30-2016 01:01 PM

Pagano is the one who made Alice look like a god in Week 1. Just like he'll do this week and like he's done with Chase Daniel on multiple occasions. Rivers doesn't coordinate the defense.

He doesn't win many games either.

Seriously before you talk trash on a team because they don't have an elite QB stop and ask yourself which is worse -
  • Not having an elite QB but having a very talented competitive team who is in the hunt
  • Wasting an elite level QB's entire career with shitty coaching, management, and terrible talent all around him

I know which one seems worse to me. Hell your best shot was with a cast off Chiefs coach and you fired him after going 14-2.

Enjoy your irrelevancy come the playoffs once again.

Goes both ways.

You don't even know shit about your own team.

He has the worst ownership in the league, the worst coaching staff in the league, the worst O-line in the league, and an injury-depleted receiving corps.

Despite that, he's dragged this team to five more wins than they had any business getting. And he's currently fourth in touchdowns, fifth in yards and eighth in yards per game, despite the fact that he has barely any time to throw and is throwing to UDFAs and old fossils.

Rivers isn't just doing his job, he's going above and beyond. It's not his fault that the Chargers are run by morons who have managed to field one of the shittiest teams in the league with an elite franchise QB in this era.

I'm not talking trash on the Chiefs. You guys are the one division rival that I have no ill will against.

I'm talking trash on the Alex-only fans who pollute the board with their drivel and annoy Chiefs fans and non-Chiefs fans alike. If you're not one of those Alex-only fans, then you shouldn't get all offended when people smack down their delusions with facts.

Both situations are equally bad in the long run, since they both involve a significant waste of talent. When you've gone decades without a ring like both the Chiefs and the Chargers have, it's difficult to get excited about great regular seasons anymore without playoff success to back it up.

For the record: I'm not defending how the Chargers have operated for the last 30+ years. Ask any Chargers fan - we're all disgusted by how the franchise is operating. We hate the Spanos family and we're praying that they sell the team to someone who can actually afford it and who cares about winning.

Marty couldn't win a single playoff game in San Diego. Norv - NORV!!! - went further in the playoffs than he ever did with the same team.

If only. Deano seems determined to keep us in the news with the relocation/stadium drama.

FloridaMan88 12-30-2016 02:28 PM

Phillip Rivers can complete a downfield pass unlike Bubble Screen Alex Smith.

Craig Whelihan is Alex Smith's equivalent when it comes to comparing him to San Diego Chargers QB's.

Yeah because Phillip Rivers is the reason they have a losing record.

JFC the level of stupidity from the Alex Smith Apologist crowd continues to sink to new levels in this thread.

Im not an Alex Smith apologist, I just think some people are factually full of shit and need called on it.

Please do tell why SD is such a bad team then? Here is your canned response -

Injuries
Coaching

Well shit the bed dude, thank God the Chiefs haven't had any injuries this season.

Coaching? Thank God Reid doesn't make any mind numbing coaching decisions.

You know what more baffling than Smith apologist?

Chiefs fans who make excuse after excuse after excuse for a team like SD and bitch incessantly at the success of their own players and team.

That is ****ing bizarre.

And on the subject of stupidity, observing our interaction the last few days its fairly evident you cant even ****ing read.

BTW Rivers is one of the league leaders in turnovers and INT's yet again, but Im am sure he bears no responsibility in that.

I was having fun being a little sarcastic towards SD, meaning that this game is their Superbowl for the year.

You can spin that anyway you want. Don't give a popsicle...
