Some of the funniest moments have been with The Deep, and I can understand why HomeLander is so messed up. I can tune out the political crap because this is an alternate reality. Most of the time, I am entertained and at others, I just roll my eyes.

The Boys has basically always been a show that is heavily critical of American government. It's just way more on the nose than it was because the actor that plays Homelander and the showrunner got super pissed people were missing the message.

And I agree. Ackles killed that role. His interactions with Homelander were some of the best scenes in the show thus far.

I haven't watched any of season 4 yet, but season 3 even started to lose momentum with me... It feels like a big chunk of season 3 was "How can we shock you even more with something gross/insane/debased?" instead of "How do we write an appealing and entertaining adaptation of this story for this format?"

I'm still enjoying watching the show but I'll admit that I don't quite understand the plans and motivations for all of the characters at this point. Especially with Sister Sage. Like how was it her "plan" to...well if you haven't seen the season finale yet, you will see what I mean. It doesn't quite make sense.

Agreed. I'd like to see less calculated political maneuvering and a lot more of Homelander going absolutely ape shit because he doesn't give a shit about laws or norms.
