I was watching the 2nd half of that game, yeah. It was a total joke...no defense was played on either side.

Without Bargnani healthy, Kleiza is pretty much option #1. It's a sad situation for that team.

English has a bright future in the media. NBA... not so much.

Tough game today... glad they got out of there with a win. Classic trap game on the road against a team they'd already stomped once... sandwiched between that emotional win over KU, and Baylor at home.

Never imagined this team would be 22-2 at this point. Keep on keepin' on, Tigers.

I can't decide if I believe this or not, but it's a fair question to ask:

Is our perimeter defense overrated?

Think of the number of guys that have put up either career performances or games that were well better than their norms. Grooms, MacGruder and Spradling, Williams and Nash, Jackson's 20 pts and 15 assists on 10 shots, Scott Christopherson, even Taylor was having one of his better games of the year until he turned into a turnover machine late.

It seems like the lead guards for most of the conference teams we've played this year have played much better against us than their season averages.

When it happens a time or two, you wonder if you're just getting unlucky and getting some tough shots. But when it becomes fairly routine you have to ask yourselves if it's not something you're doing defensively.

English will play overseas. Make six digits while seeing the world? Could be worse. But he'll never sniff the NBA.

As for Robinson, see Aldrich, Cole.

KenPom ranks their offense 1st in the NCAA, their defense 57th.

After watching every Mizzou game... I don't believe either.

I do.

Missouri's offense is incredibly efficient. It can be contained by long teams with speed, but there aren't a lot of teams out there that have that.

MU's offense may not match up well against a team like North Carolina or Syracuse, but against 90% of the teams in the nation, that offense is absolutely going to hum. There are just too many guys that can score and pass.

And like I said, defensively I'm just losing quite a bit of confidence in them. Their defense started to slip about 6 weeks ago and it's just been looking progressively worse. Even if I don't see them as being 1 and 57, I absolutely see them as being top 10 and outside the top 50 respectively.

It's not been a very good defensive team for some time now.

Good win.. I was thinking this was a slip game after the KU win.. Way to go on the road and pull out a victory..

And really, that's all that matters. These guys swept KSU, who thumped us at their place. They were ready to play... and we survived it and got a win. Job well done. 22-2

I think the defense is slipping because they're playing more conference teams.

Conference teams, in addition to being more talented, also scout Missouri much harder than say, Villanova or California, are able to. They dedicate a coach to scout them, and there is more tape to scout. That scouting plays a big factor.

Another part of the problem is that, because Missouri is so undersized, it has to double in the post in a lot of situations it normally would not. Teams that pass properly out of those double-teams are going to be able to find an open shot somewhere on the floor.

I also think the defense at the point (from Pressey) has not been quite as good or consistent as it was earlier. He seems to be reaching more and moving his feet less, which obviously is not a good combo. Also, because of his size deficiency, Phil is going to have some physical problems keeping guys contained. Basically, if a guy can get a half-step in one direction on Pressey, he has a really tough time recovering. He needs to focus more on staying in front.

We attempted 21 (!!) 3-pointers, hitting 33%. All this while Ratliffe was 6 for 6 inside. We need to be smarter.

I agree. And late in the game we need to pass the ball around some more instead of dribbling near half court. We need to execute better and get some baskets in those situations. Our offense is good enough to rotate the ball around, kill some clock, and still get a good quality shot in those situations.

Was too busy to get into any of the MU-KU poop throwing yesterday so, I thought I would stop by and give a tip of the cap from a KU fan. Great game Saturday. Other than the final score It was about as good of a game as I have seen in a very long time. Likewise any road game in conference other than TT is a good win. So good win last night against an OU team that just wouldn’t go away. Again congrats and I am looking forward to the Rematch in Lawrence and hopefully one more time in the Big 12 tournament.

You're just conditioned to be nice because your wife is an MU fan. :p

Dumb question: if we beat KU in Lawrence but still finish with the same conference record, would we get the regular season title due to the sweep?
