The Cards dont have those prospects. Piscotty isn't even that prospect and he's the most valuable young bat you have.

He said "valuable." Adams isnt going to bring back a young pitcher with 4 more years of control.

No shit, what kind of value does Adam have? A bucket of balls?

I'd rather have Leake myself, but it doesn't seem like it's taking the prospects it was assumed it would to get guys, which I'm guessing depends on the contract of said player etc.

You'd have to have a comparable trade to see what it might cost

We need to buy some talent. Not trade what we have already.

We don't have anything is the problem

Correct. Which is why we need to buy this year.

Rumor/Twitter has us and the Dodgers as the finalists for Leake. Most stated #'s are 5 years/$75 million.

Don't we have to give up a draft pick to get him?

No pick for Leake since he was traded during the season.

Seems that Cardinal fans think we could get Cargo from Colorado for Adams and Gonzalez. That seems cheap from my view but maybe Cargo's numbers outside of Colorado is pushing down his trade value?

His home/road splits combined with injury history are pretty scary and seems like his running game may have dried up. Also gets paid some serious money the next two years (I think around $40M) which I don't mind as much due to the length but less interesting when combined with giving up good assets.

I have given up on Adams. Gonzalez is at best a #4 starter. That does have value if his shoulder doesn't keep him from his potential.

I don't care about the money. We have plenty. With Piscotty moving to 1B, he would basically be replacing Moss/Adams at 1B in the batting order. Thats a pretty low bar for him to raise

A #4 starter might be pretty valuable. If Gonzalez is for us who he is on the road, then we're better off standing pat than giving up players.

The solution that is out there is so obvious, but Mo won't do it for some stupid reason. Sign Justin Upton.

Congrats, Dodgers, on your new pitcher.

Where would you put him? Hoping Holliday becomes a competent 1B?

Cards don't need an OF.
