On WFAN: Reggie Bush Rallies Behind Embattled Adrian Peterson

Lions Running Back Says He, Too, Would Harshly Discipline His Young Child

Quote:

“I have a 1-year-old daughter, and I discipline her,” he said. “I definitely will try to — will obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her. But I definitely will discipline her harshly depending on what the situation is.”

The 29-year-old said he uses his “best judgment” when it comes to punishing his daughter, Briseis. But he opened himself up for criticism by admitting he will come down hard on the toddler.

Perhaps, NFL players can participate in an extracurricular activity once a year - Lessons in learning modern parenthood.

Just a thought!

@AroundTheNFL: Vikings release statement, place Adrian Peterson on Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission list.

WHY the **** would you use physical punishment on a goddamn 1 year old?? They don't understand shit. They've barely started to say words. What's a spanking to a 1 year old going to teach them? Absolutely ****ing nothing.

Good Lord. Some ****ing people. :shake:

Major NFL sponsors Pepsi, FedEx, Verizon, McDonald's and Anheuser-Busch criticized the league over its handling of domestic and child abuse accusations.

The beer behemoth took the strongest stance against the league. It's deal with the league is worth $1.2 billion.

“We are disappointed and increasingly concerned by the recent incidents that have overshadowed this NFL season. We are not yet satisfied with the league’s handling of behaviors that so clearly go against our own company culture and moral code. We have shared our concerns and expectations with the league.”

— Anheuser-Busch spokesperson (New York Daily News)

All this public relations language boils down to two words. "Do something."
Curious when the other 30 NFL owners will step in and say enough is enough.

They won't. Goodell has made them all richer.

SNR - I am totally shocked at Bush's statement.

That is true. It'll be interesting to see what happens to him, if anything.

kcxiv 09-17-2014 12:49 AM

At first i used to like Roger, then that ego took over. Making changes to the game that make no ****ing sense.

Through all of this, I still don't think AP is a scumbag.

HIT ME AGAIN IKE, AND PUT SOME STEAK ON IT!!!

Chiefs Pantalones 09-17-2014 01:18 AM

I don't care what people say, discipline your kid how you want, but if you put your hands on them in the manner AP did, go rot in hell. I'm anti-spanking. It's my opinion that if you can't get through to your kid by the means of verbal and assertive non-physical action like grounding, etc then you're just not doing it right. Try harder. For every good parent out there there's three APs or a Reggie Bush.
