Seemed like all of the -9 under guys caught the course at the right time today (before the weather conditions kicked in).

Oos missed two putts I thought he'd make for sure on 17 and 18. I think he lost it more than ZJ won it. Hell, even the putt on 2 was super makeable. No choke or anything, just surprised he didn't make those. He seems like a real cool customer.

He didn't really lose it. He said himself that he hit good putts. He just misread them. He hit the ball better than Johnson in the playoff, the putts just missed.

The margin between a ball going in and out is so small if a ball is hit with good pace.

He's lost two majors in playoffs now and won another major by seven shots. He's a really good player.

I totally agree. I even said "no choke or anything." I had my $$$ on him in the playoff without a doubt. I was pretty entertained nonetheless.

It's too bad that the layout of the course doesn't lend itself to playing a par 5 and par 3, because 1,2, and 18 are too much alike. I'd rather see them go 8, 14, 17, 18. It would be a better test of a complete game rather than just laying up to a distance and hitting a wedge into every green.

Did having him and DJ play out that hole before the wind stoppage end up having an impact on the scoring? I wasn't following it that closely when it picked up and they got stuck right in the middle of the worst part of the winds. Didn't they make him put out that ball after it had been stopped for several minutes and the wind proceeded to blow it another 12 feet or so?

When you lose in a playoff, suddenly getting hung up in the elements like that on day 2 matters a great deal.

To me it makes no difference because they played in the easiest of conditions on Thursday, and that made a significantly bigger difference on scoring than them playing two holes in really tough conditions when other guys played 18 in tough conditions.

That's the only flaw with this tournament--the fields are so big that the draw ends up cutting the field in half many times. Had they let the grass play at its normal length the wind wouldn't have been an issue.

Oosthuizen was probably the best golfer over the course of the whole week because he played in the hard conditions on Thursday, whereas Johnson got the easy conditions, as did Spieth.

I was really wanting Spieth to pull it off but having Zach Johnson win was the next best thing. Go USA!

Spieth is the best putter in the world, but his putting from 20+ feet is like having a BABIP of .450. It's amazing, but there is no way dropping those bombs is sustainable.

Spieth is shit from 4-8', ranking 169 on Tour. He does well on strokes gained for those bomb putts he keeps hitting.

Apparently 810 sports is having a golf tournament on August 10th at The Deuce. Food by Hereford House and prizes, etc, etc. Cost is $81 per person. Anybody interested in playing?

This past Friday, I played in an industry event scratch and scramble at a country club in Germantown MD on the Potomac. All the beer and food you could drink, a margarita machine on one hole that was strong as hell, shots of oak cask whiskey and scotch on another, free Nike Windbreaker or Nike Golf Shoes, bloody marys and mimosas with breakfast, full BBQ pork dinner, free cigars, and a beautiful day....or so I thought.

I signed up as a single and they paired me with three other members. Sadly, two of the guys from one company failed to show up and me and the guy I was with spent the whole scramble hitting TWO SHOTS each holes for around 150 shots, including me warming up on the range. After nearly 6 hours on the course, I felt like a bag of jello. I wound up sleeping 12 hours Friday night, hitting the sack at around 7pm. Never again........:doh!:
