We can kill the suspense if you'd like, and go ahead and mark my acquisition of Tim Tebow for 2 points the steal of the offseason.

Maybe, but I think you could've gotten him for 1.

Provo signs CB (and more importantly, KR) Marcus Sherels for the league minimum. There will be no immediate corresponding transaction.

Okay, I'll give you all a chance to call me an idiot here.

WTF am I missing on Terell Brown? He's PFF's #4 ranked CB in coverage rating and he's ranked 17th overall in coverage on their signature page. He's started 16 games the last 2 seasons so he appears to be durable. He's batted down 15ish passes the last 2 seasons as well. He is, by all accounts, one of the better pure cover CBs in the NFL.

Now I totally understand Sherman blowing him out of the water. But Browner? Harris? I think both guys are probably comparable to Brown, but those guys are likely going to go for twice as much as him. Hell, Harris may well spend the year as a pure Nickle CB whereas Brown was probably the best CB on a very strong unit last year.

He's clearly not a great run-support DB, so I guess there's that. And Harris is a few years younger, so that would increase his value somewhat as well.

But man, it sure seems like Brown got ignored. Am I completely out to lunch here? I'm pretty damn excited to get a legitimate #2 CB (and a guy that's better than a handful of team's #1 guys) for about what someone's going to pay for Hatcher and a heck of a lot less than what Desmond Bryant's going to end up going for.

Corner wasn't high on my list

TambaBerry 06-14-2013 10:25 PM

I mean some reason in league two browner is higher then Sherman explain that

Rain Man 06-14-2013 10:30 PM

I've been bidding Brown up the whole time in both leagues, but I can't get him.

TambaBerry 06-14-2013 10:34 PM

Brown was in league two?

Brown was a very close #3 on my board behind Harris. I would have loved to bid on him again, but I just couldn't. It was a matter of timing for me. Brown would be a nice upgrade for my team, but I have more pressing needs elsewhere. I need to address those first before I can throw $100+ at a less critical position.

Dang. Vontaze is going to go for 200 I bet.

All that jack for a guy who can't run.

Oh, I'm sorry. My bad. He's on one of the teams I'm babysitting.

He led the Bengals with 174 tackles, not bad for a rookie who went undrafted and can't run.
