4th round is your backup QB market this year. Orton-Fitzpatrick in '05 are last QBs to go 4th rd-or-lower and have any starting success.

Ive heard Reid loves Matt Scott.

The Chiefs never do what I want them to, so I'm absolutely certain that none of those guys will be taken.

We're late enough into the draft that this point that they usually start taking guys I've never even heard of.

Strengths
Brute nose tackle (though he plays some five-technique) with a very good motor. Solid two-gap player who keeps his eyes in the backfield to find the ball. Plays with leverage, gets under the pads of his man to hold the line or push him into the backfield. Has enough quickness and power off the snap to pop off his blocker and grab backs heading outside or coming through the middle. Uses quick hands to swipe aside lunging blockers to penetrate into the backfield. Stays upright against cut blocks and gives second effort to get up when on the ground. Gets low with power in short-yardage situations. Also hustles to the sideline to chase scrambling quarterbacks and stretch plays when fresh. Pushes the pocket a bit as a pass rusher, and will work past lesser blockers’ shoulders into the backfield. Cleans up piles, sending linebackers flying.
Weaknesses
Not an exceptional athlete, relies on hustle and strength to make plays. Lacks the quickness and agility to be a regular factor in pass rush or corral quicker ballcarriers in space. Thick in the middle and a bit thinner in the legs; plays top-heavy, ends up on the ground too often. Gets caught up on blocks at times inside, lacking hand and foot quickness to disengage to make the play.

This Australia native came through the junior college ranks before starting all 13 games for the 2011 BCS champions at five-technique and another 13 games at nose tackle in 2012. Williams uses his size, consistent motor and supreme toughness to drain his opponents at the point of attack. His best NFL position is likely at nose tackle, but Williams has enough athleticism to play multiple spots for a 3-4 team at the next level.

The Chiefs haven't drafted a Division II player since Brandon Carr. I don't even know when the last time they drafted a D3 guy was. This organization mostly avoids those divisions. Nothing obligatory about it.

Meh. More likely to get a safety that will contribute if you take one here and QB later. The QB will ride the pine...possibly forever, whether we take one here or later.

The Bucs finally add a lineman, although Gholston is more of a LDE than a pure pass rusher.

Wondering the same thing myself. The guy is a beast on the field and fits perfectly in our defensive scheme. 6'3" 323 lbs and benched 600 lbs. He was projected as a bottom first or top 2nd round pick and he's still available. If he's there at the top of 5, PLEASE take him.

As complicated as people try and make the draft, sometimes it's just that simple.

I'm not sure they dislike Stephenson. If MIA had given up what Dorsey wanted he would be our RT this year. Johnson replacing Belcher isn't really a knock on the previous Pioli picks skill, since he isn't replacing a guy on the roster but a hole left by a guy that isn't there anymore. Siler was there for depth.

Still, it does seem that they are making quick work to fix the mistakes that Pioli made. Then again, he made so many, any pick is likely to look like that.
