With the addition of Fuller and the return of Eric Berry, the pass rush will get a boost due to an upgrade in the secondary's coverage units over 2017.

Veach still has his work cut out for him but he does have some nice pieces already in Ford, Kpassognon, Jones and Houston.

If he can add a piece or two via free agency and a couple via the draft or trades, this defense will likely make a big jump in 2018.

We basically traded our 2017 1st, 2017 3rd, 2018 1st and Alex Smith for a 2018 3rd round pick, Kendall Fuller and Patrick Mahomes.
