You do realize though, that at this point a loss to Davidson on Sunday would be total disaster. If we win, the thought of KU as the annual choker dies down further, receding into just a bad memory of a nasty run during the 90's. If we go down, with THIS team, performing at such an elite focused level, to freakin Davidson? Oh man will the scorn ever rain down. It will be just as bad as it ever got during the lowest of Roy's tenure and the choke label will be firmly on for at least a few more years.
These kids dont care about any of that, they are focused on their own goals of winning as a team. If we fall to North Carolina, it would be unfortunate but we'd get over it, since we are basically 1a and 1b right now, but for Jayhawk nation a loss on Sunday is now simply unacceptable.

Davidson lost to UNC by 4, Duke by 6, and UCLA by 12 (they were up 4 at halftime) back in November and December. Those games don't matter until they start beating the 2 and 3 seeds in March. You might be right though.. last night during the Kansas/Villanova highlights they had a small stat at the bottom of the screen that read "Self: 3rd Elite Eight in 5 years at Kansas". A couple of minutes later they had video highlights of Bucknell and Bradley, because that's what matters.
I understand what you're saying... Kansas went through the highest available seeds before losing to Maryland in the FF several years ago, they did it the next year before Marquette and Syracuse, and they had to do it last year against mind-numbing teams like SIU and UCLA. So, when the opportunity is there to go 16-8-12-10 to the Final Four, you have to win.
However, it goes back to the discussion in the Kansas/Villanova thread... the tournament can be a real bitch sometimes.
