Joe Strauss died today from complications of leukemia. He was only 54.

Read that this morning. Had just read his column about the Mizzou CS1950. Strauss was always a good read.

Always sad when someone dies that young, but I won't miss his articles. He was a douche bag.

Both. He was a piece of shit, but I'm sorry for those who cared about him.

I wasn't a fan, but 54 is too young.

Hit the nail on the head.

And still can't hit As it stands, they'd better have some guys have career years, or its gonna be frustrating again.
Or, maybe Mo's not done?

It comes down to 4 players...Wacha & Martinez health is at the top of the list.
Next Piscotty and Grichick must hit 280 with 20 hr's.

That happens and I don't give a damn what the Scrubs do.

Add Holiday to that health/.280 20 HR's we had better get list.

Adams as well (provided we start the season as is). Our bench pop should be much improved, but we can't absorb injuries as we have in the past and as mentioned need Piscotty and Grichuk to produce as projected for the whole year.

Are you guys at all concerned about Marp? He went through some tough times last year, looked physically exhausted and was, well, a windmill. I know his power was up, and his OPS was pretty impressive, but still....he just didn't look right.
Also, totally agree on Wacha/Martinez, and I'll take it a step further: I think 1 of those 2 needs to step up to be the #1, just not sure if Waino is that guy anymore. Bullpen & bench are set, I think.

The Cardinals are expected to sign Korean free agent Seung-hwan Oh, reports Daniel Kim of KBSn (via Twitter). Ilgan Sports in Korea has reported the contract to be a two-year deal with a club option that can push the contract’s value to $11MM (Korean link). Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes that Oh is expected to finalize a deal as soon as Monday, adding that he has a physical scheduled for today as well. Oh did not require a posting fee to sign because he was a free agent.

Don't know anything about this guy but sounds interesting enough. Cards sure seem to have a thing for prior closers as setup guys of late.
