Reminds me of alot of those 8-8 Saints teams under Brees
|
4 of their 6 losses are to AFC opponents as well. That is a key tie breaker. Conference record. 6 of their remaining 7 games also against AFC teams. Not sure how that compares to other 6 and 7 seed contenders but pretty clear they are in trouble from a tie breaker perspective. I like the Jets chances more than Bengals to sneak in as 7 seed.

Rest of the NFL this year when scoring at least 33 points: 38-1 The Bengals: 2-3 |

Start thinking about good things, like more Chiefs superbowls |

In 2017, Alex Smith had by far the best season of his career. In 2018, Mahomes doubled his numbers as a first-year starter.
Also in 2017, Tyrod Taylor had a mediocre year for the playoff-bound Buffalo Bills. The following year, Josh Allen put up decidedly worse stats and missed the playoffs. In 2023, Jake Browning replaced Joey Burrow midseason and out-produced him. Indisputable, rock-solid proof that Mahomes has no peers. |

How can i be mad? NC lost. There are only two teams in college BBall i hate. Duke obviously and NC. NC isn't really that close to duke but i've hated them since Jordan. I don't hate Kansas. I don't have any reason to. I do hate fake dickheads like Dickinass. It wouldn't matter where he was. I didn't like him at Michigan either. |

When they beat a good team let me know. So far they have beat losers.

Since you mentioned it...story time! Back a couple years ago when i was 8, living in Sumner Washington, a friend and i were playing outside near one of those old silver campers that you pull behind your car. So my friend was on top of it and he was trying to pull me up the curved part in the back. You know those campers. The one's with the hex-head self tappers that hold the panels together. Yeah, you know what comes next. As he was pulling me up, one of those screws ripped my nipple. Not outward though. It folded it inward about half way down. I watched them them stitch it up too. As a side note, i'm not sure if this is true for everyone, it barely bled. It felt like a bee stung me, i looked down and saw a spot of blood and then when i looked in my shirt i freaked out. |

And most importantly: HE’S BANGIN’ TAYLOR SWIFT! He’s m-fing entitled to resting smugface! @LAC
PIT CLE @PIT If the Bengals run the table and win the rest of their games they're still dropping two of these. 9-8 get you in bud? pray? |
Bengals still have to play pretty much every other team in the AFC Wild Card Race.
Steelersx2 Chargers Broncos If they lose 2 in that span they're more than likely out on tie breakers. |

When you guys take care of the Donks and Buff beats Indy, Bengals will still be in decent shape in the standings. I'm not really what you would call an optimist. Not really a pessimist either but i still have this stupid optimistic feeling about this year that makes no sense. If they can pull out one next week, go into the bye and take Pitt at home, they have 4 straight very winnable games. Then it comes down to the finale in Pitt. |

The Bengals are 13-15 since this photo was taken. Smith-Schuster’s dropped TD was definitely Mahomes’ fault. Meanwhile, Joey B continues to earn hero worship for never coming through when needed. Btw, since you've suddenly become "you are what the stats say you are" guy... Joe Burrow in 7 postseason games: 9 TDs, 4 INTs, 260.9 ypg, 93.8 rating Alex Smith in 7 postseason games: 14 TDs, 2 INTs, 264 ypg, 97.4 rating It appears that Burrow is a pretty good regular season QB who performs at a sub-Alex Smith level when it matters most, yes? |

Looking at that 9-0 start, their SoS was .361, beating one team with a winning record (one that finished 8-8, and two others 7-9). In the remaining 8 games, their SoS was .554, playing 5 teams with winning records (offset a bit by a 3-13 and 4-12 teams). Overall, giving them a SoV of .335. For reference, the Bengals' current SoV is .237, which is the lowest in the league including the Panthers (.241). |
Joe will put on his swim cap and take the yellow stream of disappointment emotionlessly dead cold

Burrow will retire ringless. That's good enough right there to smile about

Incredible how wide that thin line is and not surprising that it's the Bengals in this situation. The narrative between the Ravens/Bengals, Lahmuur/Burrow would be 180 degrees different. Burrow would probably be leading the MVP voting instead of being around 7-8th. But in Bengaland it should be expected that they continue to give themselves the short end of the stick with their all to predictable incompetence and ignorance. Case in point. Rivals will cry about the refs and luck in the Chiefs v Donks game but it's not luck when you notice another team's weakness and exploit it. You know the last time i heard about the Bengals doing something like that? Probably never. Not any time that comes to mind, at least. :banghead: |

I always love hearing the details of those plays, because it does make it seem far less random... they were still ****ing lucky to win the game, but yeah knowing they were scheming for it puts it in a better light. |

And in so doing refuse to acknowledge that the record as it stands exists for a reason. The odds of them 'figuring it out' were always incredibly low because the underlying issues (essentially team harmony and defensive consistency) are what created that record to begin with and would continue to get in the way of reviving it. Now you just root for them to win 4 more games to mess up their draft status and they can continue to try to convince themselves that this season was just bad luck. |
