I thought Hosmer might have run himself into the MVP in the 9th inning with the tying, and was a little surprised to learn that Perez won it, though he is as deserving as anyone on this team.

I mean, how the hell did they even decide?

I have never seen a complete, total team win like this one.

What a team.

The soul got it.

Perez wasn't top 5 in terms of deserving it, but whatever...Gotta love Sal.

Taking full credit, 'cuz once I got distracted from posting this in the GDT of a series win, the Royals went to the WS and then won the one after after me posting the Vid for the better part of two seasons prior.

Ur welcome

Man, I still can't believe it. The funnest sports season I've ever been a part of as a fan.

I really think we'll keep Alex and Zobrist because I believe they want to keep it going. Alex has been here so long and Zobrist had ties and just seems to fit. If they don't then thanks for the memories. I'll never hold it against a player though I want them both back in the worst way. People will be throwing money at them. I think Gordon stays for sure and the only place I could see Zobrist going is to the Cubbies.

There were 6 different people at least I would have been fine with winning MVP. To me Sal had a good series and is a big part of why they are so relaxed in big moments.

Gordon isn't a free agent! He has a player option where he can accept it for a 1/14.5 deal or decline it and become a free agent and as for Zobrist I think we re sign him. I mean he went to school in KC when he was in elementary school. His dad was a teacher

He's still a free agent. He can leave if he wants.

Luck, you see, is James Bond’s trade. Luck is his business. There are no accidents, no coincidences, no unexpected breaks. He has developed luck with his coolness under duress, his bravery when in danger, his deep preparation and, finally, his audaciousness when the critical moment arrived. Yes, audaciousness often leads to luck.

And the Kansas City Royals are James Bond.

The World Series talk only goes for about 3.5 minutes. But I just ****ing love what Wilbon says in that conversation (it begins from the 1:00 mark and on). Especially at 2:55. Where he goes, "The Royals are STALKERS, and their mentality is that they are going to GET YOU."

That's the closest any of the sportswriters have come to describing the Royals as the rapists I think they deserve to be called. These Royals simply don't give a **** what you do. Pitch your starter late... hit home runs... call the cops... they're just going to ****ing rape you. There's not a goddamn thing you can do.

:) :) :)

Actually, I think he was top 5. Before the game I posted a "I have no idea who should be MVP, but if we win, here are 5 candidates" list. Salvy was (to my surprise) on my top-5 list just because he somehow quietly put together the best world series hitting stats from our whole lineup. Nothing he did stuck in my memory, but hey, he did get all those hits and doubles when it was his turn to hit, and I guess the media just shrugged, looked at each other, and made their votes based on the hitting stats. Which, if there isn't a dominant, compelling performance throughout those 5 games by one player, then thats a fine way to pick an MVP.

And he's a 34 year old about to sign his last big contract, he's about to have another child and this is his chance to set up his family for life. If he stays, fabulous. If he doesn't I completely understand and will root for him wherever he goes. What a great fit, and what an amazing performance from the time he put on a Royals uniform.

If Zobrist were to sign here, I'm thinking that "went to grade school here" isn't going to be one of the deciding factors.
