Alright, who the **** wrote this? I detest BR but jesus ****ing christ, I know it was somebody from this site. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...hiefs-problems "The 2013 class does have one prospect who appears to have a shot at being a first-round pick and a successful quarterback in the NFL immediately, and it's not Matt Barkley of USC. Rather, that honor would go to Geno Smith. Smith is a versatile quarterback with all the traits needed to be a franchise quarterback. He is huge at 6'3" and 215 pounds, but fast enough to extend plays with his feet in a similar manner to what Luck and Griffin have been able to do in the pocket. The 22-year-old Mountaineer had a jaw-dropping year in 2012. He threw for 4,004 yards, 40 touchdowns and only six interceptions. His quarterback rating was an exceptional 164.6. Smith was also able to flash his athleticism with 155 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. His numbers included an amazing 656 yard, eight touchdown performance in a 70-63 victory over Baylor late in the season. Smith is obviously a raw talent, but with the right coaching staff and surroundings his transition to the professional level could be a smooth one. That's where Kansas City comes into the picture. The Chiefs have an elite running back in Jamaal Charles and a crop of supporting skill players such as Tony Moeaki, who will give Smith plenty of options on every down. The offensive line is still spotty, but Smith's athleticism will allow him to compensate. Recently, ESPN's Adam Schefter explained that Smith hasn't impressed scouts, and he believes Smith could fall out of the first round (h/t Arrowhead Pride). Is Geno Smith the answer for the Chiefs' problems? Yes No Submit Vote vote to see results Whether or not Smith has a chance to fall to the second round, the Chiefs cannot afford to take that gamble. He's a special prospect who could change the franchise, and he's arguably the best in his class. It's unreasonable to place major expectations on Smith's shoulders when comparing him to Luck or Griffin, because prospects such as those are extremely rare. That doesn't mean Smith cannot have a meaningful impact in Kansas City considering his impressive skill set. Consistency at the quarterback position is what the Chiefs need. An added wrinkle in the offense rather than typical pocket passers could help things as well, and will add some creativity to what has been a stale offense over the past few seasons. Smith has the answers to the Chiefs' offensive woes, and needs to be the first player Kansas City selects in the 2013 NFL draft. " Just to remind you all, I still ****ing hate Bleacher Report. |

NOW YOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU HAVE READING COMPREHENSION ISSUES!!!! This entire exchange has been a case of you backpedaling when someone tries to inject reason into you and your brother's thick skulls. Your brother for his dumbassery and you for thinking your brother's football points are valid. Then you shield yourself under the "reading comprehension" umbrella when people start pissing on you for it. I'm glad you like Geno Smith. I'm sorry your brother is such a ****ing dumbass. Congratulations on quitting drinking. Have a nice life. |

Let me spell it out for you: 1) We don't support Geno because of his stats. 2) Yes, Matthews is a LB. In a completely different system with a completely different role that actually has game-changing implications. A role that Teo does not fit. |

I was just trying to offer some reasonable advice. You gonna threaten me with your brother too? |

And my brothers spin on the draft made sense when he explained it to me....now I believe in Smith. |

Matthews is a pass-rushing, OLB. Not even remotely the same thing as Ray Lewis or Te'o. You know absolutely nothing about football and I gather you've spent exactly zero time in any capacity learning about it in a higher level than junior high school. |

Domer, the majority of plays run by Geno utilize sound, NFL concepts in regard to play and route design. I posted these images for you. Please respond if you disagree. I can even start pulling up tape of Geno completing passes in these same concepts if you like (although you'll have to give me a few days).

There will most likely not be a "consensus" number 1 QB this year. Their value will be determined by the organizations scouting them.

OMG MOAR AIR RAID CONCEPTS BEING USED BY A QB IN THE NFL!!!
Domer, you have to choose which play is which concept. I hope you can figure this out... http://smartfootball.com/wp-content/...05/5-Smash.png http://smartfootball.com/wp-content/...5/9-4Verts.png http://smartfootball.com/wp-content/...5/3-Levels.png |
It's just my gut...but I don't think the brainchild at Arrowhead will pull the trigger on Geno come draft day...unless he totally WOWS the scouts at the combine. My hunch is they take the OT from Texas A&M..and try and strike a deal with Miami to sign Bowe to an offer sheet in exchange for 1st round compensation. Then the Chiefs gamble on a QB to slide and flip that pick for either Geno or Barkley.
|
Alright, I'm done with my rape of Domer for now. I'll leave you with this.

Meanwhile, Peyton made multiple with a supporting cast we saw was complete garbage. Kurt Warner took an Arizona team to the Super Bowl that's complete garbage with a different QB. Aaron Rodgers and Brees took teams that were lackluster before they got there to super bowl wins. You cannot be serious right now. 8 out of 10 of the last super bowls were won by QBs considered to be elite. 13 out of 20 QBs in the last 10 Super Bowls were considered to be elite. So yeah... I'll take the QB who has a 25% chance of being elite 8 days a week out of the LB who has a 75% chance of being elite. |

*sigh*
A piss fest like this one was bound to happen. This thread has seen spats between Wilson lovers and Barkley lovers, and it was only a matter of time before some dumbasses came in here and made this thread all about them. In reality I should be thankful that quality Geno talk has been going on for as long as it has. We had a good run. That's okay. We'll rebuild. The season will be over. Pioli will be fired soon. Clay will post more GIFs. We'll get this sucker back up and running faster than it takes Tim Tebow to release the ball on a throw. Yep. Give it about two weeks. |

I honestly think that it's gonna be either Geno or Wilson. And it sure seems like it's going to be an EPIC battle.
Idk why Geno hasn't been invited to the Senior Bowl yet, but he surely will. I would love to see those 2 with an NFL coaching staff on a level playing field. |

You're most likely going to see the draft order going KC, Jax, Oakland. Both Wilson and Smith will be gone in those top 3. I'd bet a sizable chunk of money on that happening. |

neither you nor your roided out brah have watched smith play, yet you insist on lecturing us about his merits.. no one gives a shit if 2/3s of a boy band want to draft an over rated lb with the #1 pick of the draft start a thread called "Dipshits who want to spend the #1 pick on a LB" and quit shitting on our yard... |

and he doesn't have a fraction of the freak athleticism that urlacher had coming out...but he plays for noter dame so... |

Because here's what Smith and Wilson both have that Glennon does not: -Superior stats -Better decision-making skills -Better downfield vision -A more consistently accurate deep ball -A more consistently accurate intermediate out route -MUCH better escapability and pocket presence This is just jaw-dropping to me that any professional scout could possibly like Glennon better than Smith or Wilson. |

How many of you would be apposed to utilizing the pistol with Geno. He is athletic, not RG3 level but don't need to be with his passing with Jamaal Charles
|
Quote:
Tim Tebow went full pistol. Now look at him. Never go full pistol. |
We should probably run a run-heavy style offense with vertical play-action elements and evolve the offense over the course of Geno's development to become more and more vertical development used to set up the run. Maybe then we start incorporating some west coast elements and go full Saunders Coryell. Really, I think Saunder's version of Coryell would suit Geno and our package of offensive talent nicely. That's right, let's bring back Al Saunders as OC.
