Yeah it definitely seems like the dude can scout. All of these guys seems to have good upside and a couple seem to be STEALS.

I'd love to know which guys Veach really wanted but someone else stole.

Of course some of them will be free agents here in three years because he doesn't stop liking them.

We added a Lot of speed to this team since last year and dumped a bunch of bonehead players.

That is how you turn over a roster.

I'm impressed that it was a front squat. Lots of guys can put up 500 on a rack or machine. Holding it front squat is what the true beast dudes do.

The kid plays like a miniature Jamal Anderson

RunKC 05-03-2019 10:37 AM

Andy is going to have so much fun with this kid running these plays.

D Wil will be our starter
Hyde our backup
Thompson will get 10-13 plays a game
I can see James Williams being our third down back. Solid pass blocker and is the best catching rb in this draft

How was this kid not invited to the combine?

He’s built very similarly Kareem Hunt. Like a shorter, faster version. He has massive thighs which is what helps him carry defenders and keep his balance.

More I learn about him the more I like him.

I always though Hunt was bigger, but he’s listed at 216lbs. So, yeah, this Darwin guy isn’t that far off. I’m probably most excited to see this guy play out of anyone we drafted. Hardman should be fun too, but I can see Darwin getting more play since it’s a less-complicated position.

Tho pains comparisons are Tarik Cohen

I'd be great if he would show enough to be able to move into the lead back role after this upcoming season or even at the tail end of this season.

In58men 05-03-2019 11:07 AM

Not sure if this was mentioned, but apparently Chiefs tried to trade up for him.

Damn. That gif makes me miss Kareem Hunt. I would have never signed him to a second contract, cuz #runningbacks, but he really had amazing bounce and re-explosion.

That's what I'm hoping for with Darwin. A lot of his highlights are guys hitting him dead on the hip, but he bounces 2 yards to the side and starts running again.

I think it's very clear Reid and Veach know exactly what it takes to be a great RB in this system.

He the #5 RB in the nation in missed tackles... James Williams was #2

actually, they are 2nd and 5th in percentage of tackles from the first contact. Darwin was tackled by initial contact 59% of the time, and James Williams 52% of the time.

It's a slightly more specific stat than missed tackles, but I think it is super valuable, especially when our offense designs plays to have initial contact on a runner occur four yards downfield on the regular.

Reading this makes me think of Dexter McCluster and how he couldn’t break a tackle to save his life. How far we’ve come!

Thanks for the correction!! Either way both of these RBs will play a huge role in this offense. So long Darrell Williams
