Best case? See 2001: A Space Odyssey. We become God.

I'm shocked that it took this long to quantify it.

If going to Mars is as boring as 2001: A Space Odyssey I think we should stay here.

Anyway, when did anyone become a god? I thought he transcended time to see himself die and be re-incarnated as a space baby.

Despite what Rain Man says about how different he is from his "evil twin" bad girl, they both look the same to me.

How can a kid who is going to a fine institution like Mizzou (David.) be so wrong and a kid who is wasting time at a glorified day care center like KU (metrolike) be so right?

Based on this survey, I would have guessed that chiefs4me is a Bronco fan.

I should kick your ass for saying that about me...I would rather cut off my finger then to EVER cheer for the donkey's...:harumph:

We give human kind the ability to survive, even if something happens to Earth. If we do it right with a habitat for people to live on, then who knows how that will push technology? It could give the private sector a reason to invest in new technologies, creating very high tech jobs for the smartest people. Plus it is a launch pad to getting even further out in space, not so much mars itself being a launch pad, but in giving humans the knowledge that we can do it...

Other then costing some money, I have a hard time thinking of any negatives.

I thought he passed through the portal to transcend mortality and become a god.

Since you and I agreed on 13 categories, I bet that we're both right.

OKAY! Dartgod/cdcox Spreadsheet v.3.0 is ready.

I have attached a version of the spreadsheet that automatically calculates the # of agreements for each participant.

Just fill out the form with your responses using the pulldown menus for each question. Everything else is done automatically. Results are in the first matrix after the responses.

Caveats:

1) Only responses from Dartgod, Rain Man, cdcox, and ZachKC are entered at present. I'm too lazy to go through the thread and enter everyones data. Someone else should feel inspired to and repost as version 4.0.

2) There is only room for 25 entries. If there is enough demand Dartgod could probably expand it to additional entries (I'm not experienced enough with forms to figure out what he did.)

Over at OrangeMane, there is a poster who thinks that Mars colonization is the prize that the global ruling elite are striving for. He says that the earth's rich and powerful are competing to be the first to establish supremacy on Mars so they can enslave the rest of us on earth and rule us from off planet. As far as I know though, this has not been confirmed so it might not really be true.

Every union is unhappy at times. If there isn't an easy way out when the chips are down, many of those marriages would be salvageable.

You lazy bums. Okay, I have entered the first 25 respondants. It really ticks me off I can't figure out how to copy Dartgod's form to do the rest (I think there are 5 on deck). Here are the results:

Most mainstream Planeteer: Nightfyre average 11.75 agreements

Most out of it Planeteer: chiefs4me8, average 7.83 agreements

Most Polarizing Planeteer: Hoover (based on largest standard deviation)

Most Polarizing Planeteer from liberal POV: Dave Lane (several 14s and several 5s)

Get a room already (16 or more agreements):
Metrolike - Nightfyre
Nightfyre - Saulbadguy
Cochise - Hoover
Cochise - patteeu
jspchief - el borracho

Baseball bats at the ready (4 or fewer agreements):
Rain Man - chiefs4me
ZachKC - chiefs4me
Saint McManus - Hoover

That, in my humble opinion, is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. What say you about domestic abuse or other odd situations. Buck up, you can't be done with this asshole, however take comfort in knowing that you have a better chance of being with him/her until the end because no other option presents itself.

Rather than hijack this thread, I created a spinoff thread with my response.

I've added another 25 columns. Should be enough, I think. I didn't copy/paste any of your formulas though.
