Most mainstream music is horrible but the alternative rock bands coming out the last couple of years really piss me off. A lot of these bands would get lauged off stage if they tried to make it in the early nineties.

1.) Stained (It's been awhile) or (I'm on the outside) practically the same generic angst rock songs.

2.) Nickleback (Someday) Because every rocker has a soft side! Another contrived clear channel angst rock band. I was so suprised when someone posted on here professing their love for Nickleback because to me they are the type of band that clear channel tries to shove down everyones throat.

3.) Any Emo bands song. I'm sick of these pussy bands leaching on to the national punk scene like a parasite to a host. The lyrics to these crappy bands like My Chemical Romance read like amateur high school poetry.

I guess maybe the problem might be that you are labeling both those bands as alternitive, I don't think Stained or Nickelback are anything but rock.

As far as Nickelback, yes I like them, I would like them without clear channel. I think they are a decent rock group without many songs that I think are crap.

But then again, I wouldn't give up listening to a band that I like just because they became popular either and I hardly listen to the radio.

Silvia's Mother by Dr. Hook was actually voted worst song of the year in England. I think it went top 5 in the US.

Would ya please reply with a printing of all the lyrics to this song and provide a complete description and explanation of the song's Renfest video? Who was the moron who wrote/sung this piece of crap and did ya ever wonder why he was just a one-hit wonder who should've never even had the credit of having one hit?

It's just that the local clearchannel owned alternative station for awhile was playing Nickleback constantly. That song from the spiderman soundtrack is also pretty horrible.

Honey - Bobby Goldsboro. So sicky sweet it gags you.
Joy to the World - the song that made me quit listening to 3 Dog Night. Jeremiah was a bullfrog? What the hell is that?
And I'll add a vote for Sylvia's Mother.

Doesn't get any worse than those three - unless you really listen to the Beatles' Revolution No. 9. But then no sane person would do that.

Listening to the radio can frustrate the hell out of anyone, especially when a band gets popular. I could really see how having to listen to rock bands on an alternitive station over and over would piss you off.

Personally I'm just celebrating the fact that over the last few years there has been a lot more rock and hard rock being played on the air. I just couldn't stand more then just a couple of the alternitive bands.
