He doesn't have to actually coach to get the money, he just has to prove that he went out and looked, and no coaching position suited him....

I seriously doubt shanny signed a contract that says if you fire me I have to actively look for another job to get paid.

This isn't unemployment.

So is Mort doing Shanny some favors? :hmmm:

That's quite a favor, putting your reputation on the line by reporting something that isn't happening.

WTF?? Shanahan was FIRED and he had THREE YEARS LEFT on his contract. He's OWED that money if HE DOESN'T find employment.

That is exactly how Kevin Harlan described it. Ask him. They discussed it for 5 minutes.

Yeah, that all sounds like a crock to me.

I bet he did. I bet there was a clause that says if one party violates the contract, the other has to make an attempt to mitigate the damages.

This is pretty much how the Denver papers reported it...

Now I wanna see Rat come here just to see the look on Schefter's face when he has to explain himself.

MVChiefFan 01-23-2009 06:06 PM

Does anyone else get the feeling that if Shanahan does come here, Schefter is gonna curl up and cry in the shower. It's almost as if he despises the thought.
