The only two losses for the Jayhawks this decade in Columbia were during Self's transition (the 'B' years), so I wouldn't be surprised if we swap home wins again this year.

Yeah, it's a tough game, but I don't think there's a need to go overboard... Mizzou hasn't played in a big statement game in a while, and they'll make stupid inexperienced decisions just like Kansas. I assume they haven't sold out many, or any, home games this year, so it'll more than likely be a 'weather the storm' type of game for KU. I think it'll be close, and it'll probably come down to the fewest mistakes in the last few minutes, making free throws, etc.

Making free throws=not good for MU

And, what....KU is above having a rivalry?

Hopefully Kansas comes in arrogant but I doubt Self lets that happen. What i like about this tigers team is that they rely on alot of guys to do things not just 1 or 2.

You need to put it on the back, just above the waterline. Makes for great target practice. :)

The ;) is sarcasm... I was going to go with "yeah, KU gets everyone's A+++ game", but decided against it.

During football season, I said several times that I'd love to see Kansas and Missouri (as well as Nebraska) have many more meaningful games against each other, because a rivalry sucks when it's either completely one sided or irrelevant to the rest of the world.... and the same goes for basketball.

That's what I was thinking.... I don't think the wife would like it if you were aiming for that part of the bowl unless you did a good job of cleaning up after yourself.

Yes, I know. It was more of an obligatory response. :)

Really looking forward to this game Monday!

MU is going down like Michael Phelps on a bong.

It really doesn't matter how much better a team KU has at the time...they almost always lose in Columbia. This has always been one of those "throw all the stats out the window" kind of games.

The thing is, this time there's no need to "throw the stats out the window". The teams are dead even statistically.

I think home court gives Mizzou the edge... but it's gonna be a hell of a game.

Go Tornado.

Oh, I know they are dead even statistically. Which is why I say MU wins easily...Well, maybe not easily, their games are rarely blow-outs either way.

That was kind of my original point. MU being good + the history of KU-MU games in Columbia = MU win.

I'm still hung over from Friday night, so I am probably not making clear points :)

When do we get to our actual rivals? Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, etc?

The same thing happened with Pinkel before the last 2 or 3 years...no one was excited the first couple of years after his arrival. He would show up most every place in town and no one seemed to care but the elite alumni. Now I bet he can't go anywhere without being forced to talk Tiger Football.

I bet Andersen could eat anywhere in town and do so in anonymity...now maybe the "blue-nose/blue-hair" stuffed shirts will get behind the BB team there in Columbia.
