I think these delusional MU football fans think their football program is better than it actually is. Why the hell do you have to mention it in a basketball thread?

Ha, Missouri's standing as a football program? They aren't any better than KU. They proved that last year (and whenever they lose to OU).

Take pride in your basketball team, dude, and move on. Maybe they won't choke for you.

Oh my God. Are you serious? You won one game. ONE. You think that makes the programs even?

Humor me: when was the last time ku's football team finished ahead of Mizzou in the Big 12.

Anyone can jump in the fun if they'd like.

Your team had higher aspirations than what they ended up with and you know that.

A NC contender that ends up like Missouri did is a fraud.
And a Heisman contender that ends up like Daniel did is a choker.

I call them as I see them, and there isn't any way around that.

Yep, it goes both ways.... for years the Jayhawks were chokers in the eyes of their rivals, even though a lot of Jayhawk fans didn't think so. Rival fans ignored the fact that it's really hard to win a NC just so they could fling shit our way.

Then Mizzou's football team has BCS or NC aspirations and ends up out of everything, barely beating Northwestern in their bowl game. Anyone who thought Kansas was consistently a fraud in BB because they didn't win the NC every few years should automatically say that Mizzou was a fraud in football last year. After all, they didn't meet expectations. Who cares if it's extremely difficult, right?

(FTR, I don't think Mizzou was a fraud last year, just like I don't think KU BB was a fraudulent team for the 20 years before they won a NC last year)

Wait...so KU is slightly more mediocre than MU? Is that what you are arguing, here?

They are both mediocre, either way.

The funniest thing is you act like beating KU is some kind of huge accomplishment.

Since you ignored it I'll just post it again:

I know it might be difficult to find info that is so old, so feel free to take your time.

I just love your logic. So, in the 2007 season, KU only lost 1 game in football and went on to win a BCS game. MU lost 2. Yet, somehow KU was worse than MU and a fraud? Yet, MU is better this past season despite losing to KU? Gotta love that logic (or lack of logic).

I'm again trying to understand how this proves that MU is a good football program. It just proves that they are slightly better than an extremely mediocre KU program. Good for you.

Of course KU fans could bring up the injuries to some key players that really hurt us in the MU game in 2007. Goes both ways, silly little MUron.

He was without those players for the WHOLE year, not just one game dumbass.

Put somebody worthy of your admiration in your avatar. Not that stiff.

Wow, you are a real CP genious (cps). The only game KU lost all of the 2007 season was to MU when they had a rash of injuries that kept key players from playing anywhere near their potential IN THAT GAME. And yet we were still almost able to come back on you.

I'm going to just go out on a limb here and guess reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

I never said ku was a fraud last year or any year; we're discussing Mizzou right now in case you haven't noticed.

This is the last time I'll pose the simple question:

Oh and I want to point out that I am not using the injuries as an excuse. Just pointing out the hypocrisy. Injuries are a part of the game. You just have to accept them and try to win with who you have available.

Mr. Plow 02-16-2009 02:41 PM

Can we stop talking about basketball in this football related thread please.
