Maybe. But I would not be surprised to see KState win one (or more) against KU this year. They've got some quality peices that make them dangerous.

Based on Kenpom, KU still has 7 of their hardest 10 opponents still to come...on the road.

No, I agree with both of those statements. I *disagree* with your statement that Texas shouldn't be in the discussion for #1. I don't think they're THE best team, but at this point in the season, ANY team that's among the top teams in the land has a place in the discussion.

Pigs will fly before K-State beats KU in Allen Fieldhouse.

I don't think we're as good as KU, but on any given night anything is possible.
I don't think there's any way on Gods green earth though that Temple could play with either UNC or Michigan St

There shouldn't be any discussion for #1. KU started as the #1 team and hasn't lost a game yet, and have looked more impressive than anybody doing it. When KU loses (if that happens), then UT can be the #1 seed (unless they lose to a team like Corpus Cristi first like they almost did today).

And yet Temple could beat Villanova. Who is ranked higher than both of those teams.

It's easy to look impressive when you haven't played any good teams. Until today, that was true.

Define "good." According to Kenpom's rankings and RPI, KU had played plenty of good teams.

KC_Connection 01-02-2010 10:14 PM

For whatever reason, it seems a lot of KU fans are reluctant to say this is the best team in the nation. Even though it clearly is.

Silock 01-02-2010 10:15 PM

We certainly haven't played a team like UNC or UK.

that's a bullshit argument.

KU hasn't played the competition as some teams (not their fault). I'm a KU homer, but I'm stating facts.

ArrowheadHawk 01-02-2010 10:17 PM

Who cares who is ranked what? As long as KU gets a one seed in the tourney that is all that matters.

Maybe they've just seen other teams play better to this point (IE Texas)

I'm a KSU fan #1, KU #2....always have been, but if you haven't been more impressed by Texas than KU thus far you haven't been paying attention. Will they be better in a month, I don't know (I certainly hope not) but they have played tougher competition.

In the end, does this really matter if your ranked #1 or #4?

KU is a Top 5 team, plain and simple... KU is a NC contender this year.... Regardless if they are ranked #1 or #3 or #5, in the end, the should be in the FF and should have a legit shot at cutting down the nets...

So wether you want to believe it or not. KU is one of the best, if not the best team in the nation regardless of whom they played...

Have you watched UNC and UK play? They've been struggling all year (even against bad teams). The only reason UK is undefeated is because John Wall has a knack for amazingly pulling out close games (kind of like he did today). Neither of those teams has the depth, experience or talent that KU has.

Texas, Purdue, Syracuse, and West Virginia are the teams that could beat KU in the end, IMO. But I wouldn't bet on it.
