Oh, now I remember - It is no secret that Alex Smith has trouble throwing downfield. When the Giants played 49ers a few weeks ago, they were running the wildcat - The OF would bench Smith on long plays - I remember another player (Kaepernick) was splitting time with Smith in the backfield.

The 49ers run a Pistol Formation... The Giants defense figured it out early and shut their offense down.

However, Harbaugh made Smith serviceable last year - my opinion - When the Giants played them in the playoffs - They did not run any gimmick plays.
