@kentbabb: "Just a prediction, but if KC hires Koetter, Pioli will probably stay. Dimitroff will tell him what a delight Scotty is.”

I think that's the legitimate concern. I don't think any of this "tree" stuff has merit. The guy has spent a single year with Atlanta... big deal. He seems like a competent offensive coach but how would he do leading a team? Of course this is true with anyone.

Guys like Haley, Ron Rivera, and Jim Schwartz once looked like brilliant young minds too. Sometimes good coaches aren't necessarily the flashiest hires.

Is Hunt even involved in this team or did he just tell Pioli to "make this one count?"

The fact that the Falcons gave permission so fast tells you all you need to know. They don't need him. Obvious is obvious.

Except Koetter has NEVER looked brilliant. EVER.

Dirk Koetter is the hot name early. Good for him. He will be a heck of a head coach.

@ArrowheadPride The Chiefs could do a lot worse than Whisenhunt, if you ask me. I think the guy is a hell of a coach hamstrung by a bad org.

babb must be bored in Washington, been doing nothing but bitching about the Chiefs since he left.

Babb is getting spoiled by RG3... he has lost touch.

What does babb think the chiefs are?

If we wasted this season to keep Peeholi, I am officially done.

I'd actually agree... I don't think Koetter has ever looked as brilliant as guys like McDaniels or Rivera. That was my point. Sometimes the brilliant coordinators don't do a great job leading an entire organization and being responsible for everything, and sometimes competent coordinators make great coaches.

The Falcons have been very happy with the job he's done. They specifically hired him to open up the passing game a bit more, and he's done that.
