Arians should not be the top guy given the amount of quality head coaches on the market. I don't get the uber hype.

Not sure why you are so high on Gruden changing his style. I don't want to bring in a guy who is supposedly gonna change his entire philosophy based on what he's said in the announcing booth.

And why can't we look at what Holmgren did in Cleveland? It was a ****ing dumpster fire.

Probably because he is a legit coach of the year candidate.

None of your hopeful hires make a lick of sense, so there's that.

Reid's track record with qbs is okay. Not great. His track record with offensive lines is miserable. He isn't an offensive guru by any stretch. He is a guy whose success has been based on a defense that is a shadow of what it once was, mobile qbs, and a multi threat rb.

He's not a bad hire. I'm just baffled about why a guy we all bitched about a few months ago is suddenly the hot candidate. I still question if he can win games without Jim Johnson running his defense.

I've never been on the Reid bandwagon, and the fact that he's CoMo's frst choice seemed to confirm my belief.

But then you come along with this post, and now I'm just confused.

Which moron do I ignore?

I never understood the though process of hiring someone who has proven they can't get it done as a HC (crennel, etc). Yeah Reid did blah blah blah a few years ago but the last 2 season he has sucked a fat penis when the team was dropping dollars to get stars on the roster. I think hiring Reid in KC would be epic fail part 2.

It's his fault Vick was complete shit?

Yeah the Eagles were full of stars, that is part of the problem. You can't have a team full of individuals and have success.

Zilla wants to hire a coach based ont he fact that he hopes he's changed or will change his philosophy on offense.

BossChief 01-01-2013 10:25 PM

Give me your top 3, mm.

Individuals go to pro bowls, teams win championships.

Because he has extensive history with young QB's (Manning, Couch, Roethlisberger, Luck) and did an excellent job as temp HC for the Colts this year.

As far as the other "quality" coaches that maybe available, there is no indication that Cowher and Gruden want to coach again so that leaves Reid and maybe Holmgren. No thanks

Lol coaches don't want power? I would think bypassing the GM and the Owner is who you report too would be pretty appealing.

O.city 01-01-2013 10:28 PM

Whoever we hire, we are hiring him based on what he is. Not what we want him to change into or hope he decides to do.

CaliforniaChief 01-01-2013 10:28 PM

What's the latest on Rivera? Are they waiting to hire a GM? If I was a Panthers fan I'd be pretty pissed off since they had a head start on the GM search and apparently did nothing with it. At least we're in the HC chase with everyone else.

If Rivera is released, I'd love Reid/Bailey/Rivera as our coaches.

I wouldn't mind if Clark took a shot at David Shaw or Brian Kelly. Shaw just got a new contract but he's a helluva coach. And Kelly's done nothing but win everywhere.
