I simply told you that Andy Reid's quarterbacks have played well within his system. And now you're trying to deflect by putting words in my mouth.

If you don't want to call Reid a QB guru, fine.

Your standards are ridiculously low if you think Kolb played well in Philly.

61% completion
6.5 yards per attempt
11 TD's
14 INT's
73 QBR

FYI, the excuse given for why Kolb couldn't secure the starting spot in Philly was that he got injured. TWICE.

Well guess what? He has the SAME PROBLEM in Arizona.

A QB that can't stay healthy cannot be, BY DEFINITION, a franchise QB.

So let's throw out Kolb.

Come on, Andy Reid flipped him for picks. He's a QB genius.

So there's that.

Not a knock on Reid, more an indictment of how stupid the Cardinals were. If his rep as a QB guy gets teams to do similar stupid shit for us, it will be awesome.

All of this trade back talk is ridiculous.

NOBODY is going to trade up to #1 for a Tackle. Or a Guard. Or a corner. NOBODY. None of those players is a game changer, and you don't trade up to the #1 spot for anything less.

A QB is a game changer. If you don't have one, you're screwed. We don't. If Dorsey and Reid like Geno, they'll take him at #1. I hope they do, I hope we can go forward with our very own #1 guy and I hope he becomes the franchise QB we've always wanted.

But I don't know. It may be a 2nd rounder.

Deberg_1990 02-22-2013 11:00 AM

Reids next best QB while in Philly was Vick. oh yea, hes a former #1 pick.

Mr. Laz 02-22-2013 11:03 AM

I would counter and say that there isn't anyone worth the #1 pick in this draft.

Warmack? You don't take a guard #1 no matter what. I wouldn't even take Will Shields #1.

Jones? nope (stenosis?)

Joeckel? Maybe ... if you think he is a Jonathan Ogden level type LT

Milliner? A cornerback better be able to shit gold to be taken #1 and i heard that Milliner needs surgery.

In a draft with no obvious gold star prospects the value of the position takes on more weight. Quarterback is the most valuable position in the NFL. So if you are going to 'reach' for a player at #1 then you reach for a QB.

jmo

THIS. It's not like there's a consensus #1 player that's just not a QB. NONE of these options is a home run. So I think you take the position of greatest possbile impact to your team. That would be QB.

Yep.

Combined numbers for QB starts under Andy Reid NOT named Donovan McNabb:

38-44 record (.463)
55% completion percentage
112 TD's
94 INT's
70 QBR.

And those numbers are inflated due to Vick, who was a #1 overall pick.

I stand corrected then.
