Has everything to do with where it landed, champ.

Like I said... he stuck his arm out and clipped him where it counted. If you want to believe otherwise then that's your choice. You can't change the facts.

Kinda like what you see in the big 4 sports. They just come to a point where ****, it, one last pay day n im out.

I don't think he threw the fight, however, it seemed like he didn't care at all about winning AND it almost seems like everything he did was to make Weidman look like Captain America. That kiss, the no glove touch, and the taunting all can be seen as, "you should like this other guy, not me," in my opinion.

This Weidman guy is not going to hold the belt as long as Silva had, I think we will see the belt change hands a lot more frequently now.

Yes and Yes.

I didn't see the first meeting between Sonnen and Silva but in the second meeting there was a point in the match where Silva was casually walking backwards across the ring with his arms down by his side not defending himself. The rest of the fight Sonnen was bullrushing him and the entire first round Silva was in guard.

You should probably go watch the Belfort fight again. Multiple times he had his arms down not defending himself because Belfort wasn't doing anything... http://vimeo.com/22345665 The first punch Belfort threw came damn near 3 minutes into the round when Silva was dancing around with his hands down. The fight lasted 4 minutes, you can bet your ass he would have continued doing it.

He'll wait til he thinks he's seen your best and feels you cant touch him and gets cocky. It cost him this time.

EDIT: Watching a replay of their first meeting and by the 3:30 mark in the first round hes doing it. Hands down taking shots to the chin.

EDIT 2: Just finished watching the whole fight and a more appropriate question would be... Did you ever see Silva with the opportunity to do what he did with Weidman? He easily spent 95% of the fight on his back because Sonnen, a wrestler, had no interest in sitting back and going toe to toe with Silva.

Ya, I know. Post 81.

That's actually a very interesting observation. I still maintain, though, that Anderson had a gameplan and was sticking to it. The taunting was probably very calculated and, I think, was meant to be a trap to lure Weidman into a knock out counter. Anderson knew he wouldn't be able to stop Weidman's takedowns so he was enticing Weidman to swing away instead. Nobody is better at striking than Anderson, he simply went too far with it and got caught by Weidman.

Also, I think people are vastly underrating Weidman's abilities. Dude is the next gen of fighters.

champ? don't get butthurt, style points....ANY punch has the potential be a knockout punch, inckuding a body shot resulting in a TKO. you can downplay it all you want, but as Pants pointed out , the view from from behind Weidman tells a different story...and Pants is correct, IMO, it's a gameplan that finally caught up to him...it was inevitable, regardless that Silva is an inccredible fighter.

What do I have to be butthurt about? You were the one insinuating that Silva doesn't go down to someone just sticking his arm out and got hit by a hulk-like smash.

Silva's cocky, got clipped in the wrong spot, went down. The End. There was no domination from Weidman, like some are suggesting. It was a shallow win for Weidman, brought on by Silva's cockiness. You can sit there and say it's some gameplan by Silva, and maybe it is, but you can't tell me that when he's training for a fight he's being coached to have his arms down and let the other guy hit him and to put yourself against the cage and let the other guy get position.
