No. It isn't. Here's the story:

Jeff Stehny, after destroying many competitions with his team Slaughterhouse Five, wanted to open up a BBQ restaurant. He partnered with Joe [lastname], the owner of the Oklahoma Joe's brand of smokers. Jeff, a native Kansan, had a sentimental attachment to the brand, as he started barbecueing on them.

About a year into the partnership, they split ties with each other. The OK Joe's smoker guy's restaurants have nothing whatsoever to do with Jeff's restuarants in the KC area.

I am half there still can't give it up. Already have given up sugar and caffeine. Lost over 30 pounds doing that. I way less than I did when I left for basic training and in high school.

I was just near their Canton location last week for work. I always hit Chaps when I am in the area http://www.chapspitbeef.com/ but I may have to try Mission.

Their Glen Burnie location is in my client's shopping center and I surveyed that property 5 months ago.

Just a plug for Smokin' Guns BBQ in North Kansas City. Just ate there again last night...its probably my favorite in KC.

I literally live 5 minutes from there.

There is one done by the fire department that is pretty bad ass. But there is also one that is over by the mall every summer that is pretty good too. Not sure which one you are referring to.

Going to give that one a try this week. Heading over to visit a cousin in that area and she recommended that for lunch.

Yep. Okla Joe's is wonderful, but is arguably not even the best BBQ place in KC. There's a few other restaurants that should have been considered. Arthur Bryant's for BBQ and Stroud's for chicken come to mind...
