wunderground has diluted its product and uses free data from people like me for their agenda. I know many weather station owners that are refusing to send anything to WU.
the weather channel is about clicks and drama.

Weather Underground doesn't want user stations anymore it seems like. I used to watch neighborhood stations on the sprayer all the time. Sometimes the wind in the north part of the county is different than the south.
Now, if I don't have the station ID memorized I can't get it. It sucks.

Nope. Never living there.
I do not feel this is getting the press Katrina did. Weird.

Yeah, Cabelas put a store in Gonzales LA that I had to go audit. I'd never been down there, cool. So these ****s from retail convinced me to go the 35 miles South to New Orleans by telling me they were going to get in to one of Emril's restaurants. I didn't have that kind of money, but I was down. Turns out they didn't and we went to Bourbon Street and I wanted to eat a bullet.
That's not the story, we came in from the North and whatever, I was surprised at how flat it is and how many cows there were. Felt like a more green/tree covered Western Kansas, then we got on a bridge over Lake Pontchartrain. Woah. This is a big lake. Then we went DOWN into New Orleans, and I've seen a map, I know what's on the other side.
Coming from the Great American Desert (according to Steven H Long), it was ****ing terrifying. Even if I wanted to let loose and get drunk, I'm not sure I could. It would always be in my head.
