I thought Furious George had several nice snaps. Jones and Dunlap certainly deserve a ton of credit on that 4th down turnover series. That’s 3 huge individual effort tackles to force a turnover on downs with 3 plays to get 1 yard. But Jesus Christ on WAY TOO MANY passing downs they would send 5, engage with the lineman and stop ****ing moving. All 5 of them. I’ve never seen anything like it. Not washed out. Not overran. Not jammed up on a double. Just one on one and getting ****ing stoned 5x. I’ve never seen anything like it. |

They had Chase in the backfield and Evans out wide to cause confusion in coverage. |

22-9 was stupid but never really in doubt. 43-16 23-3 30-6 That's from the last 6 games with the other two being close. Played them closer in 2018 and going back into the Alex years. |

Dude is best in the pocket. That's why he eats so many sacks. |

Just my two cents, and I'm probably off by a mile, but it looked like Spags was mush rushing a lot, and he dropped a DL into short coverage a lot.
I think he was trying to simulate pressure and make Burrow throw a pass that could be tipped. Burrow has a lot for them in his career and several have been defensed/picked. Again, I don't really know, but that's what it looked like to me in the heat of the moment. But watch some of those clips that have been posted since the game in various threads, and several times we've got DLs just a couple-three yards off the LoS right in front of Burrow with their hands up like they're waiting to try and bat a pass. And they took their swings, just didn't get lucky and bat them. Not saying this was the only thing Spags and the defense tried either, because there are plenty of snaps where that doesn't happen. but there were a handful when it did. |
