How many ****ing bloop hits are gonna fall?

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 08:49 PM

Bad luck and horrible location from Siegrist. Just horrible. Dude was middle-middle with everything.

O.city 04-11-2014 08:49 PM

Sloppy

O.city 04-11-2014 08:50 PM

Ither than Rizzos sack fly, I don't think the cubs have hit a ball hard all night

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 08:52 PM

Double switch Descalso in to set up three straight lefties. Wow, Mike.

O.city 04-11-2014 08:54 PM

So far this year, collectively, we've been pretty piss shitty at the plate. No discipline, no nothing

O.city 04-11-2014 08:58 PM

2 great abs there guys

Jesus

O.city 04-11-2014 09:05 PM

Well shit dic. Adams scorched it right at the rfer

O.city 04-11-2014 09:29 PM

Burning a pinch hitter to bunt?

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 09:32 PM

Just amazing they think this guy is a better option than Strop.

And while I normally hate bunting, the squeeze is the right play here. I don't trust Descalso to do anything but **** up if you leave the bat in his hands.

jd1020 04-11-2014 09:32 PM

Thought the Cubs got rid of Marmol.

Never had a chance

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 09:42 PM

Can't believe they didn't K him on that two strike pitch. Still, I'll take the SF 100 times out of 70.

jd1020 04-11-2014 09:42 PM

Ump definitely needs to go under review for ever being allowed to call balls and strikes again.

That was a borderline strike. This guy has called balls right over the middle of the plate for both sides. He ****ing awful.

O.city 04-11-2014 09:44 PM

Guy can't find the zone and you go swing at te first thing you see

Rookies will be rookies I guess

O.city 04-11-2014 09:51 PM

Cubs raped in that Garza deal

Jewish Rabbi 04-11-2014 09:52 PM

Leadoff walks always score, right?

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 09:55 PM

Ball Four
Ball Eight

jd1020 04-11-2014 09:56 PM

Strike 1 comes on ball 9.

jd1020 04-11-2014 09:59 PM

Grimm yet to throw a strike in the inning yet he strikes out Molina. Thanks Molina.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 09:59 PM

I ****ing hate that. Every time a batter goes up there thinking swing on the first pitch after walking they always do that.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 10:01 PM

Dumb sonofabitch runs on to the field getting his bitch ass tossed in the bottom of the 10th. Moron.

O.city 04-11-2014 10:02 PM

Idiot

I like how he threw the ball back. Gets nothing out of the deal.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 10:03 PM

Kozma may be a horrible hitter...but Jesus Christ, Mike.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 10:04 PM

Descalso is your emergency catcher. He could just PH Cruz here.

LiL stumppy 04-11-2014 10:04 PM

how do you not pinch hit cruz or kozma.........

tk13 04-11-2014 10:05 PM

Are you guys really letting your closer bat with a guy in scoring position in the 10th inning? Am I watching this right?

O.city 04-11-2014 10:05 PM

Wtf

Mi_chief_fan 04-11-2014 10:05 PM

Mike Matheny. Michigan Man.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 10:05 PM

This sports day just makes me want to cut myself.

O.city 04-11-2014 10:06 PM

Watching him swing, I think he's better than kozma

Jewish Rabbi 04-11-2014 10:06 PM

Interesting, to say the least. Not to mention Rosenthal, like Martinez, normally gets torched when he throws a second inning.

And people wonder why we are down on Matheny.

O.city 04-11-2014 10:07 PM

Did that really just happen?

If he doesn't trust anyone else in the pen, ****ing get someone else in the pen

O.city 04-11-2014 10:08 PM

And zero confidence in kozma. That's a waste of a roster spot.

Good double switch in the 8th too

"Cardinal fans are so spoiled, they're always so down on their team." -People who haven't watched them in the matheny era.

God is a ****ing ****.

I know Kozma sucks but if you can't trust him to hit in that situation over a pitcher then why the hell does he have a roster spot?

Because he's Mo's boy. And Matheny's.

LiL stumppy 04-11-2014 10:27 PM

im not sure if it was a knock on kozma or our bullpen....

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 10:27 PM

The managing from Matheny is frustrating as hell. The only reason he has had any success is because he was gifted a very talented team.

I am sure the Cardinals will still win a bunch of games but it won't be because of Matheny.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-11-2014 10:32 PM

It's still very early, but something does seem off with this team. It just feels like they're missing something.

It does.

Feels a little like complacency to me. But it's still an infant

O.city 04-11-2014 10:34 PM

While they do have some veterans, there was also a lot of change this offseason.

I don't doubt it will take some time

jd1020 04-11-2014 10:35 PM

Switched to the Cards station to hear Matheny explain that he basically conceded the 10th inning when he allowed Rosenthal to hit. He felt confident that Rosenthal could get him another 0 and give his offense another shot. Apparently a runner in scoring position in the bottom of extra innings isnt a good enough shot. Go Matheny, keep on keepin on.

O.city 04-11-2014 10:35 PM

Also if you don trust kozma there, at all, he should be memphis

kcpasco 04-11-2014 10:36 PM

So basically he does not trust his bench or his bullpen. That's just fantastic.

O.city 04-11-2014 10:37 PM

He's a typical coach, of any sport. They want total control and can't handle when things are unknown

there is no way we should lose that game. The cubs? Losing to the cubs at home? No way that should happen.

O.city 04-11-2014 10:41 PM

He knew in the post game show he ****ed it up, you could hear it in his voice

kcpasco 04-11-2014 10:46 PM

If Kozma is that bad then send him down and bring up Piscotty to hit off the bench.
DD can defensively cover the infield.

Kozma gets to that ball and win. But, thats just one game at SS. Kozma doesn't work for 162 games and the playoffs.

Like a bullpen? A bench? Power?

I had high hopes this team would play up to the level of the 2004 Cardinals. But there's no Steve Kline or Ray King who you can trust to get you out of jams. No Julian Taveras or Kiko Calero. Martinez and Rosenthal are all we have this year, and if Rosenthal can't find his velocity I don't know that we can count on him either.

We had legitimate options off the bench in Mabry and Marlon Anderson. What do we have this year? Jack and shit. Jay, maybe?

No one on this team hits for any power. Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, Reggie Sanders, Larry Walker... They all scared you every time they stepped up to the plate. This years team lets Trevor ****ing Rosenthal hit for himself.

kcpasco 04-11-2014 10:51 PM

Ellis cannot get back soon enough
And that probably means Kozma is gone

Now just replace Jay with either Taveras or Piscotty and the bench just got a whole lot better.

Taveras, Piscotty, Grunick would cost us a year of service to get bench help. We don't need that cost of help in April.

Who's playing SS? Backup to SS?

Not directed at you, but those who are in reality knew Peralta could hit .220. Next year he hits .320. Track record etc.

DD can cover SS and 3rd.

Piscotty can play third as well He will never play there as a regular, but he probably is no worse than playing DD at short. They are probably going to stick this out until Ellis gets back however.
