I Got Draftabulator Fever
By FAX. I got draftabulator fever, there ain't no doubt, So, read this post while I cuss you out. I'll call you names if you don't like my picks. How can you tell? They're asterisks. I got draftabulator fever, my skin is thin. I get pissed off when the Chiefs win. 'Cause it proves our draft selections, Ain't livin' up to my projections. I got draftabulator fever, yeah I'm hot, I need a doctor, I need a shot, To cool me down. Oh, Holy Moley, I'm gonna ass rape Scott Pioli. Oh Lord, I got draftabulator fever, And there ain't no cure, no pain reliever. Yeah, it feels like I got real bad gas, Or an flaming aids tree up my ass. Call me out, I'll show you meanness, I'll say you got a real small penis. Then I'll post all the stuff you said, Back before Goodman was dead. I'll remind you of what you mentioned And do it with such condescension, That next year, you'll pick all receivers 'Cause baby I got draftabulator fever. FAX |

Since this thread has officially lost its burst, I'd like to take this opportunity to laugh at Hamas's sig line. He picks out a 7th round draft pick to rail against, and the guy makes the team two years in a row. It's perfect. He rails against an inconsequential long-shot, and that guy makes the team two years in a row.

Why start a crusade to cut a 7th round pick? Maybe I'll start a crusade not to sign Todd Reesing. |

And completely true in describing those bitches. |
I THINK THAT I WOULD BE ANNOYED WITH HOOTIE A LOT LESS IF....
he actually constructed posts in REAL SENTENCES and maybe an occasional paragraph... that WOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO READ as it is I find myself just skimming his posts and not really having a GOD DAMN CLUE wtf he is talking about... (Sorry, I know it's not a good impersonation, but I have trouble NOT writing in complete sentences.) |
I'd be less annoyed with Hootie.....if he didn't act like such a whiny bitch.

Hootie goes on a rampage and FAX produces another Hall of Fame Draftabulator memory... This is a great great day and thread. |
I'd be a lot less annoyed with Hootie if his mother had swallowed.

When I've started an inverse-Scanlon campaign against O'Connell, let me know. That said, he's one of the worst players I've ever seen suit up for the Chiefs. |
Jake Oconnel does suck bad, but so do AT LEAST 90% of all 7th rounders. At least he had the size/speed combination to be a half way decent gamble that late in the draft.
Page Succop Most teams dont have two 7th rounders that have contributed as much as those two have to our team in recent years. Thats two out of the last 5 years that have been valuable NFL players. Cant win em all. ... That said, **** Jake Oconnel with a rusty fork |

The fact he is 6'3 250 and ran a good 40 time for that size: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profil...nell?id=238500 ...O'Connell ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 and 4.69 seconds and posted a 41-inch vertical jump. Thats a decent size/speed combo for a 7th rounder. Thanks for playing. ... now, where is that rusty fork... |

You just threw those figures out there like I thought you did. It wouldn't surprise me if more teams find value in the 7th round than you think. |

Figured I'd lend a hand.
40 selections in the 2005 draft 7th round. 3 players still with their original team (Fanene, Ratliff, Mruczkowski). 3 players started game 1 of 2010 season. 8 players suited up for game 1 of 2010. Personally, I only see one good pick out of the 2005 7th round (Ratliff), but I'll let you guys fight over the appropriate percentage of good picks. Billy Bajema - TE - STL - 1 Games started 2010 (2009 - 5 starts, 16 games) Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB - BUF - 0 Games played 2010 (2009 - 8 starts, 10 games) Madison Hedgecok - FB - NYG - 1 Games played 2010 (2009 - 9 starts, 16 games) Scott Mruczkowski - C - SD - 1 Games played 2010 (2009 - 13 starts, 14 games) Hamza Abdullah - DB - ARZ - 1 Games played 2010 (2009 - 0 starts, 1 games) Jonathan Fanene - DE - CIN - 1 Games played 2010 (2009 - 10 starts, 16 games) Jay Ratliff - NT - DAL - 1 Games started 2010 (2009 - 16 starts, 16 games) Matt Cassel - QB - KC - 1 Games started 2010 (2009 - 15 starts, 15 games) Rod Wilson - LB - JAC - 0 Games played 2010 (2009 - 0 starts, 8 games) Kevin Vickerson - DT - DEN - 1 Games played 2010 (2009 - 2 starts, 13 games) |
Of the 46 2006 draft 7th round picks, 12 are still on rosters. Only 3 starters again. I see one good pick, (Colston), but will let you all argue over the rest.
Quinton Ganther Ben Obomanu David Anderson Marques Colston Dave Tollefson Jarrad Page Devin Aomashodu Will Montgomery Pat McQuistan Zach Strief Fred Evans Cortland Finnegan Looking at the numbers, it looks like 80% of of 7th rounders are gone in 3-4 years, with only 3 getting serious playing time. Guess it depends on your opinion of "sucks bad". Obviously at least 80% (unemployed) meet this criteria. I would have to guess that at least half of the remaining meet the level of "Matt Cassel Sucks Bad". I'm going to round down the 90% estimate to 85%. :D |
If the field wasn't wet, They tie the game.

So is Cassel. O'Connell only bothers me when he takes the field. Hamas' sig doesn't bother me, I was just curious about 7th round pick values. |
Quote:
You can pick up quality starting offensive lineman, tight ends, running backs, and special teamers in the seventh round. You can find linebackers and safeties. And a backup quarterback or two. And you don't have to fight other teams for the player. |

almost as valuable as undrafted free agents... almost |

Booya Even if you go by the parameters (that seem fair) set forth by unlurker (thanks BTW man rep on the way) it seems my claim was only 5% off...pretty close for an educated guess |

Hey, if the Chiefs believe that O'Connell is raw but with talent, I have no problem with a guy like that on the practice squad. He'll still get reps and have an opportunity to prove his worth. But a guy like O'Connell, at least from what we've all seen, doesn't deserve a roster spot. Fill it with guys like Andy Studebaker, Wallace Gilberry or even Tim Castille, a guy that has bounced around the league for a while but brings a certain value to the squad (and for the record, I'm fan of all three. Castille proved his worth the moment he was acquired on waivers). Just don't give it to a guy because you drafted him, especially when he's downright awful. |
Quote:

Its not like we have to worry about somebody "stealing him" from our practice squad.
There has to be something with this kid they REALLY like that is totally unnoticeable in his play so far. I wonder what it is... |

You may not recall but there was a time when the draft was eight rounds and before that, twelve rounds. And I'm sure that the Houston Texans are really bummed that Arian Foster wasn't drafted by someone else instead of being available as an undrafted free agent. |
