I thought Tony was going to school him.
This is just my opinion. But, you always watch the young drivers, and you'll never get tired of NASCAR. |
OP updated, including standings...will try to keep the top 15 posted
Call me silly, but I expect many of the top 12 to be different when the chase races get here |

Hmmm....wonder what a $100 bet on Trevor Bayne for the win would have gotten you in Vegas today.

The only bright part of today was that I can cash my parlay that the #33 finished in front of the #'s 16,31, and 48

No. 21 has impressive list of drivers fill its seat
Wood Brothers dominate the number's rich Cup history June 12, 2009 Bill Elliott, in the No. 21 Ford, fielded by Wood Brothers Racing. That one line has it all: Legendary driver, legendary team -- and a legendary number. The number has visited Victory Lane 90 times in Cup Series competition, a total shared among 17 drivers. No other car number has had so many different winners. Arguably, no other car number has had so many great drivers behind the wheel. David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Buddy Baker, A.J. Foyt, Tim Flock, Marvin Panch and Curtis Turner all drove the 21. Pearson had the most victories in the ride, 43, that total coming in 157 starts, another high for the 21. Elliott is the latest of the greatest to take over the No. 21, albeit in a limited role. Both Elliott and the Wood Brothers compete part-time these days. In 1969, Yarborough was in the No. 21 and won the track's first Cup event. Pearson had eight MIS wins in the 21 during the 1970s. Dale Jarrett drove the 21 in '91 at MIS, capturing his very first Cup win. And then there's Elliott, with seven MIS wins in his storied career, although none came driving the 21. The Wood Brothers first fielded the No. 21 in 1953, with team founder Glen Wood in the seat. "Somehow along the way we ended up with 21," said Glen's son Len, now a part-owner of the team. "The story goes that there was somebody from South Carolina who had 21 and it was really running fast, so we numbered our car 21 in hopes it would be fast as well. http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/feat....21/index.html |

One way to make Daytona 500 more exciting: Have Blake Griffin dunk basketball over Dale Earnhardt Jr's car.

Wish I had seen this earlier....I was cussing #99 all day long wondering if he was going to race like he was scared again like he did a few races last year.
But it looks like he ran a smart race....and avoided all the big crashes. I thought for sure he was going to drift to the front until the Rookie made the good move to take away the inside. Good finish Carl. |
Old Carl about pulled that one out today, but what a great story. I like this kid, hope they change their minds and let him run a full schedule.
Good job by the way on the thread. Nice set up. |
Really was a decent race, outside of Michael Waltrip racing and Tony Stewart taking out half the field.
|
I believe NECK CAR was founded on this day in 1948
|
Truck race about to start on SPEED Channel. Cup regulars in tonights' race are Bowyer in the #2 Tide ride starting from the pole and Kyle Bush in the #18 Dollar General truck starting from the 3rd position.
|
I still don't have the stupid Speed channel.
|
oops, thought Speed was streaming it too......guess not
|
Eh, no big deal, I need to study tonight anyway. I have yet to see a truck race though, are they any good?

boring race at the front. Clint lead for the first 40ish laps, Kyle beat him out of the pits and has been out front since....30 or so to go.
|
another caution with 28 to go, but don't think anyone will get past Kyle on a restart, the Toyota just accelerates so much quicker
|
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh brendan gaughan breaks down the wall! LMAO
|
CAUTION, CAUTION IS OUT
is he alive? did he drop the web -- he was hit hard on the drivers side and smashed into the wall |
aaaannnnnd ANOTHER caution......Clint is getting plenty of opportunities at the restart, but again I just think the Toyota has too much under the hood for any of the Chevys
|
bowyer' racing - neato
ron hornaday lol he cracks me up -=- don't mess with him --- he'll kill you ... LMAO |
wow kyle's driving a rocket
The Kyle Show! I think Kyle owns that truck... |
Other than at the front it has been a fairly eventful race, but on the lead there has been only one pass and that was in the pits
|
8 cautions -- yikes
Damn NASCRAP is live streaming the race --- http://www.nascar.com/multimedia/web...eed/index.html |

I just saw the best WOO race ever at pike county speedway MS last night. The entire feature had three guys swapping for the lead the whole race. At the end its was the King who brought home the win over jason sides and then one of kasey kahnes drivers "cody" that rounded out the top 3. The old man still still has it! Them young guns can wheel for sure.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ceway_Logo.jpg http://stats.onpitrow.com/images/tra...al-raceway.jpg Capacity 67,000 When looking at how well a driver does at Phoenix International Raceway, also consider their performance at New Hampshire, Martinsville & Richmond because they are very flat tracks. Nascar has been running there since 1988. That track is a unique race track based shape based the fact the track has a curve between turns two and three. Phoenix International Raceway started to have two cup dates in 2005. Jimmie Johnson has the most wins here with 4. Davey Allison, Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick are tied 2nd with 2 wins here a each. Track is more on the driver than the equipment here. It is an unusual tri-oval shape, more like a "D" shape. This is because the owner did not wish to alter the infield road course to accommodate a traditional NASCAR oval. In 2005, the track hosted a second NASCAR race, replacing the spring race formerly held at Darlington Raceway, in South Carolina. One of the only tracks designed for open wheel that usually always puts on a good show for NASCAR stock cars. (Cite: Wikipedia.org) |

Last weeks parlay wasn't crazy enough I guess, since I hit it so I went with a 5-way at 18-1.
To win I need Both Bush brothers to finish ahead of Hamlin and Bowyer to finish ahead of McMurray, Martin, and Logano. I know betting on NASCAR is stupid, but I tend to have better than average luck with it and it often gives me a new guy to pull for or against. And I NEVER put more than $10 on a parlay. |
Marcos tried to take out R. Gordon for the 2nd caution. Nice driving job by Robbie to not take out White Bread (though my parlay woldl have been helped had he taken Joey out).
|
Oh boy, Jr is the Pizza Hut fan favorite again! What a surprise!
|
Bayne, without Michael Waltrip racing taking out the field, runs out of talent.
|
Bayne in the wall; God must not want him to win this week.

Kyle Busch is gonna kill someone this year. That's the second time this race that he's dove straight down on someone. The first time the other guy saw him and slowed up.
|
Kyle Busch wrecked Carl, almost looked like it was on purpose. Yep, Kyle Busch wrecked him, ruined Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Carl Edwards and Jeff Burton's car.
|
Gotta hand it to Edwards for not blowing his top on camera.
I do wish however NASCAR would look the other way when it comes to fist fights. |
Crazy
|
88's best chance is if these wrecks keep happening and he's the only one left when the white flag flies. It'd still be iffy though.

Vickers' non-driving ass just took out half of the field......including the #33..........sonofabitch

Vickers got loose, can't tell if Waltrip Racing caused that one.
